We don’t let 12 year olds vote, drink, smoke, or drive. Therefore, no one should be allowed to undergo hormone therapy or transgender surgery until they are 18. Children’s brains are not fully developed to make such a decision, especially medical treatment that will permanently alter their bodies.

It’s extremely, extremely difficult for minors to get on HRT. Rightwing media is trying to turn you against a vulnerable minority for their own benefit.
I transitioned when I was still a teenager. If you don’t like it, pound sand.
17 here, totally agree. We are unstable and constantly changing, most of us are pretty stupid…
A lot of the teens I knew when in school were angry they couldn’t surgically transition, it was even a big topic in my High School’s LGBTQ+ club.
I don’t even think it should be that specific, rather anything that’s physical permanent to your body shouldnt be allowed until after the average age of frontal lobe development.
I’m pretty sure minors in the U.S. (if it’s where you live) can’t transition medically, it’s a highly regulated process
Puberty blockers can be prescribed only after a thorough psychological evaluation and under medical supervision The aim is to give the kid time to explore their identity without the added stress of unwanted puberty changes, and to make decisions when they’re mature enough to do so
But like every major decision, i agree with you that children shouldn’t be able to make that big and irreversible of a decision but i’m pretty sure it’s not really possible anyways
Father of two here. My kids will tell me they want pizza then immediately when it comes out of the oven won’t eat it and beg for chicken nuggets. Let’s just assume they have no idea what they want and admit it may be safer to let them be children.
I started testosterone when I was 15 years old I had dealt with suicidal ideation, depression, anxiety, and extreme dysphoria pre-transition since I have started testosterone. I have been happy myself no suicidal ideation at all little to notice for you. It has helped me be me I do not regret starting this early and neither do my parents. I had to go through therapy and several doctors signing off on my transition to be allowed to transition, even though I have been out for five years. It is a long process.
You take time of your day to think about teenagers’ privates, you’re busted pastor!
For the vast majority of trans kids the most they’re allowed to do is puberty blockers which despite what fox News would tell you are entirely reversible, and for those that have more that is something that the kid has to talk to doctors and psychologists about and the regret rate is beyond tiny. Like smaller than the regret rate of many surgeries I’m sure you have no problems with.
Also, the whole “your brain isn’t fully developed until you’re 25” thing is a myth by the way. Your brain NEVER stops developing. The study people cite simply stopped measuring at 25 because they made the assumption that if it was still developing at 25 it probably never stopped.
