Anyone who has started a relationship long distance, how did it turn out?

So my first committed long distance relationship was long distance for the first year of us being together. We met in college, but we were both going to different schools. I would see him on the weekends, and then when we both went back home, maybe once in the summer.
It was VERY hard. We would skype and text every day, but not seeing each other every day was difficult. And he was not a natural born texter/skyper, so he would sometimes go the entire day not talking, when I was looking for talking whenever he was free. I was dealing with a lot of mental health issues at the time, so that didn’t help. Eventually, I moved up to his hometown to get away from my family and since my college was in his hometown, so it made sense.
Now, 7 years later, we are married and about to buy our first house (hopefully)!
If you are considering a long distance relationship or are currently in one, it takes commitment. It takes patience. And there needs to be communication. It is a lot of work. And at some point, if it’s going to become a marriage or serious relationship, someone will at some point have to give and move to the other person’s area, or you move somewhere together. But a long distance relationship is feasible with 100% effort on both sides.
