Do you believe in the freedom of religion and that everyone has the right to worship as they please? Do you also believe those who are of the lgbtq community can love who they want as long as they aren’t well, hurting anyone? Do you all support Trump? Is there anything that could make you not support him? Do you hate liberals and democrats? Do you firmly believe the Constitution should be upheld? I hope this doesn’t come off as rude or narrow-minded. I live in a very conservative town, and they be pretty angry all the time, and a good chunk filled with hate, while sharing bible verses about love. I’m honestly just so confused at times. And yes, I’d consider myself liberal. I’m just asking these questions to open my mind and not feel like every party has to hate eachother. It’s exhausting.

> Do you believe in freedom of religion
Yes
> love who they want
Sure. No one says differently. However, as is clear, it was never just about letting people “love each other”.
> Support Trump
I do.
> make you not support him.
Sure.
> Hate liberals
As people? No. But I do hate much of their ideology.
> support the constitution
Yes.
> while sharing verses about love
This is something I often see people say and it is frustrating. Love doesn’t mean tolerance or acceptance above all. Some ideas & actions are wrong and we should actively seek to destroy them. That’s not antithetical to Christian ideology at all. In fact it’s completely in line with it.
I am literally a Hindu lol…
Of course not, I’m an atheist conservative.
No. I’m a follower of Jesus Christ and his teachings, but I don’t identify as a Christian. Christianity in the US is a horrible joke used to control people. I really do believe trump is the antichrist. Maga hats are the mark of the beast.
I am a Christian. Many people pick and choose which Bible verses they will rattle off not knowing the full context. That is not a follower of Jesus. Please do not confuse the two. My role in my religion doesn’t give me the right to damn or judge others. That’s not my job. I do pray for them, and if they ask me about Jesus, I will share the Gospel. For people who pick and choose verses with no context, I pray they figure it out so they don’t make all religious people look like assholes.
I believe in absolute freedom and The Constitution; practice whatever religion you want. If a person is lucky enough to find a person that loves you completely and you in return, congrats. A lot of people never find love. Just be good to each other. Adopt and love as many kids as you can if that’s what you want.
I voted Trump. I don’t have a hard on for the guy, but we had two choices. Out of the two we had, for me, he was the better choice. Vote for anyone you want, please just vote and make your voice heard. If a person doesn’t vote, the person has no right to bitch.
I do not hate entire groups of people. My BFF is a Christian and a Democrat. We have way more in common than anyone I’ve ever met. I think most people fall somewhere in the middle, but we disagree on how to get there.
I grew up in a small conservative town with more churches than traffic lights. I heard the shit daily. Over the years I learned how to better circumvent the attacks. If a stupid person says I’m going to hell. I tilt my head to the side, looking thoughtful as if I’m considering their position, then say: you may be right or fair enough. Then smile. It drove the old ladies nuts. I hope you receive some good feedback from others!
This is an interesting question, the short answer is “No.” But I am sure a lot of folks wish the entire country was Christian, just how I am sure others wished it was completely secular or followed their particular religion.
>”Can all people worship as they please?”
That depends. Is it reasonably lawful? Then of course
>LGBTQ+
This where left vs right gets weird. The heartburn from the classical right on this issue is twofold:
1.The new problem – Truth matters. Many thoughts in this group are untrue at a fundamental level.
> Trump support
Yes I support him. It doesn’t make him invincible to criticism, especially with this client list debacle and the Israeli controversy. He won’t “lose my support” as I support any president because I hope our commander in chief always does what’s best for the American people.
> Hate Dems
Absolutely not. I think they need to finally put together a clear message and identity that appeals to typical Americans. Their social Crusades are falling apart and won’t carry them any more in my estimation.
> Constitution
It’s the single greatest political document ever made. It’s what has made America stand the test of time, and will continue to do so if we stick to it.
Thanks for popping in.
No, all are not.
Of all the slurs that the left has come up with to denigrate conservatives, I understand “Christian Nationalist” the least. I legitimately don’t even know what it’s supposed to mean, other than it’s supposed to be extreme and have some kind of shock value.
I am a Christian, it’s true. And I’m very patriotic, it’s also true. I believe my country should put the needs of my own country first, and I also believe everyone should be a Christian. But I don’t see how that’s in any way controversial.
You’ll have to tell me what you mean by Christian Nationalist. Because I have no idea what that even is.

Lots of different questions. Wish you would ask only 1. It’s giving r/vent

Jewish here. Do not hate Democrats and liberals. Pity them often. Enjoy watching their frustration sometimes when Trump succeeds.
LGBTQ – can love who they want as long as they aren’t well, hurting anyone. What I am objecting to is foisting their sexuality on others, drag queen readings to children, LGBTQ books for little kids.
Don’t tell me there is no LGBTQ propaganda. I live in a fairly conservative part of Texas. In my daughter’s school (junior high!!), by her estimation, something like 20% “identify” as non-binary. While throughout history it was always below 5% – some say 1-2%.
Yes your typical american conservative is a “christian nationalist” because its a term the left invented literally to make them sound scary and as a replacement for “white nationalist” once the conservative coalition became obviously multiethnic. There are very few people who would call themselves such a thing and those that do are doing so in response to the demonization of the term by their opposition.

Do you believe in the freedom of religion and that everyone has the right to worship as they please?
Yes. I don’t agree with all religions, but you do you.
Do you also believe those who are of the lgbtq community can love who they want as long as they aren’t well, hurting anyone?
Yes on LGBTQ, as an adult, love who you want. Stay away from grooming kids though, no surgeries or hormone blockers for kids and also don’t expect taxpayer money to fund trans surgeries but you are free to have it as an adult.
Do you all support Trump? Is there anything that could make you not support him?
100% support Trump. Many things he could do I would not support him RE:
If he let in 20 million illegals I would not support him, if he allowed men to play in women’s sports I would not support him…many things.
I don’t love him as a person but I like his whole team and a lot of the policies. I believe he is trying to make America great but its a very tough job.
Do you hate liberals and democrats?
Heck no, I don’t hate liberals at all. I have many friends/family who are Liberals, I just don’t agree with some of their ideologies. But that doesn’t make me dislike them as people.
I DO feel sad that they don’t understand the grift that is the current Democratic party. The paid protests, the endless lying and race baiting and identity politics…too much to list.
Dem Propoganda is everywhere and it works on people who don’t have time to really research things.
Although fortunately it doesn’t work quite well enough 🙂
Do you firmly believe the Constitution should be upheld?
Yes on constitution, but context matters. Like the whole anchor baby thing.
No, Not all Conservatives are Christian Nationalists. Many are not even Christian. Some are Christians of all different stripes, some are Jewish, some are Hindu, some are Muslim and some don’t claim any religion.
Conservatives do not have a litmus test for sexual orientation. You do you. However, we don’t want drag shows in elementary school and we should be encouraging transitioning to another gender before you are an adult (at least 21)
I support Trump but I don’t like him. He is a pompous ass, a braggard and I can’t stand to hear him talk. However the alternative to Trump in 2016 was Hillary and Obama 3.0. The alternative to Trump in 2024 was Kamala or Biden 2.0/ NO THANK YOU
YES, Conservatives believe in the Constitution and our Constitutional Representaive Republic
We don’t hate anyone Democrats or Liberals. We believe everyone is entitled to their opinion even if it is wrong. The big difference between Conservative/Republicans is that we can agree to disagree. Democrats always seem to want to censor us or cancel us when we diisagree with them or think that because we disagree we must hate them or that we are evil. That is NOT the case.
I don’t even believe in a god. Everyone should be able to practice any religion they want. It shouldn’t influence politics in any way.
No I think Nationalist goes against Christianity
Now patriotism: that’s more like it !

Do you believe in the freedom of religion and that everyone has the right to worship as they please?
– As long as it’s lawful behavior, yes.
Do you also believe those who are of the lgbtq community can love who they want as long as they aren’t well, hurting anyone?
Of course. And there are actually LGB conservatives, contrary to what is often portrayed.
Do you all support Trump?
Not everyone does, but a lot do or are at least willing to give his version of politics a try since the more traditional “polite Republican politician” wasn’t getting anything done.
Is there anything that could make you not support him?
– Sure. He’s evaluated just like any other person.
Do you hate liberals and democrats?
No.
Some of their language, behavior, or behavior/laws some of them advocate for though? Yeah – it’s kind of hard not to dislike riot supporting, blocking of freeways, yelling at others because they said something you disagree with, and some of the outright scary things portions of them advocated for during Covid, etc.
Do you firmly believe the Constitution should be upheld?
100%. The key is that both sides typically have very different views of how the Constitution is interpreted and that effects how they believe it should be upheld, if we take everyone genuinely at their word. (Strict vs. loose/implied interpretations).
