When they’ve taken over the country as a Dictator…….yes.

If you don’t like it, you can attempt to do something about it, I suppose. Might be a tad dangerous tho.

    Apparently.

You as an American citizen can ignore the supreme court as well.

It wasn’t this way until the last two presidents did it. It’s a different time.

Didn’t they also rule that he basically can’t do anything illegal as president?

The Supreme Court ruled that a president can NOT be held accountable for anything that they do while in power. The congress is stacked with Trump supporters.

The house of representatives could impeach the president .

    The people could revolt.

When the Supreme Court gave them immunity they can. Whoopsie.

They’re not ‘allowed’ to. The Supreme Court is the final word in the rule of law. Their decisions are supposed to be enforced as a last resort by the military. If their decisions are ignored and nothing happens … well, there goes the rule of law. Welcome to anarchy.

They can pretty much do whatever they want now until Congress votes to stop them.

The Supreme Court ruled against their own interest by making Trump a king so in this case, yes.

Aussie here with a serious question. With this sort of stuff going on, it makes me appreciate that with a constitutionsl monarchy, having that last checkpoint of having a usually poncey inbred monarch giving the final ascension of laws makes a lot of sense. I mean it isn’t much, but at least there is one final check there.

Is anyone seeing this situation as being a systemic failure or is eceryone just pointing fingers.

I suspect that once Congress and the Judicial branches decide to work together they will strip the executive branch back to its original constitutional definition. That the president is more of an extension of Congress and not the fully independent branch that it evolved into over 200 years.
Most early presidents had to go through Congress to get approval to institute their political policies.

he didn’t ignore any majority rulings. The one you’re talking about was only if the el salvadorian president wanted to send the guy back (which he didn’t)
