I thought about the tumor issue because, for example, elephants are bigger than humans and therefore have more proliferating cells and therefore more likely to undergo a mutation, I don’t know if my reasoning works

Side question: what are the main drivers of an species size?
Is that the size of the mother and initial size just after birth, driven by availability of food? quantity of growth hormones?
I guess there are pro/cons to being smaller or bigger.
I guess there were reasons why dinosaurs were just so big? Was it because of availability of oxygen?
