“Most” horses are vegetarian and do not have digestive systems designed to process meats. With that said, out of desperation horses have been witnessed eating basically whatever they have an opportunity to eat, which is generally limited to things small enough to just sort of be swallowed.
With that said, there are some horses in some parts of the world that have been bred to accept fish as a part of their diet.
I think if you consider eating bugs to not be vegetarian, there’s actually a lot less fully vegetarian animals than you’d think, and I’m not talking about eating them by accident either. Few animals will pass up a nice bit of protein, but they may not necessarily hunt for it.
Parrots (of which I am the proud owner of one) for instance mainly eat cereals, vegetation and barries etc, and won’t really seek out anything else, but they’ll happily eat mealworms or even a bit of chicken if it’s offered to them. They can digest it no problem and it provides them with a high concentration of nutrients the same way it does for us.
The same goes for eggs, many animals will lick up a broken egg, including the parents themselves!
No such thing. Sure, horses are specialized to consume large amounts of difficult to digest plant matter, but it is rare that they’ll turn their noses up at a bit of animal protein now and again. They may not seek it out. They may not be able to handle too much of it in their diet lest it disrupt their vegetable heavy digestion. They may not have the teeth to break up a carcass into edible pieces. But let a horse graze near a clutch of bird eggs or chicks and that nest will be empty.
They are not fully vegetarian. Most vegetarian animals aren’t, they are what we call “opportunistic omnivores” in that they will not seek out meat or hunt or even really look for scavenge. However, they will eat meat or other smaller animals if the opportunity presents itself. Mice, voles, baby birds, things that can be eaten easily without effort. That does include if they come across a dead animal, they may take some opportunistic bites. They won’t go looking for it, but if they find it, it becomes a snack or two. It provides needed minerals (especially calcium) they don’t usually get.
For what it’s worth, they aren’t above eating insects as well as they forage and rummage among grasses. If there’s a bunch if ants on something or bunch of crickets that don’t get away, well, they get munched.
Deer are known to do it, as are horses. I’d be willing to bet cows do it from time to time.

I saw a video of a horse eating a baby chick
Nope. They’ll opportunistically eat critters like mice, chicks, whatever
Mostly. Sometimes they eat small animals like baby birds or mice. This can be a good source of vitamins and minerals like calcium.
Yes/99.99% that is to say, if a dead mouse ended up in one of their feeders I wouldn’t be too surprised if it got gobbled up with the hay.
Nothing is strictly vegetarian in that there are insects or microscopic living things on everything anything eats.
But horses do not seek out any animals to eat. They are fully vegetarian in what they attempt to eat.

They’re opportunistic omnivores.
They will never seek out meat, but if it presents itself as an easy meal they will eat it.
Not fully. I’d say they’re about 90-98% vegetarian. They’ll occasionally eat birds or small mammals.
They will eat non-vegetarian foods sometimes if they can get them.
No. Nothing is. Any herbivore will eat meat if given the chance, nutrients are nutrients.
If the stomatch can handle wheat it can probably handle some little critters from time to time.
Horses are NOT Vegetarians. Grass and hay are plat material but are not considered vegetables.

I watched a horse eat a bite of rattlesnake once.
No, they’re opportunistic eaters iirc

It’s – it’s a cookbook!
No, one started eating my Cornish pastry, and then followed me around, ran after me and even bit the bag to get the meat
It got a bit scary when I was standing on the edge of a cliff with one horse blocking my exit, and another horse full charging towards me

Mine once stole a bacon roll out of my hand and ate it, but in general yes they are herbivores and only eat plants.

I seen a horse eat a hotdog
Hasn’t the world discovered theres no such thing as a fully vegetarian animal?
I fucking wish. The baby chick video traumatized me
No. All so called herbivores are actually opportunistic carnivores. That means if there is an opportunity to, they will eat meat.
