China is still a net importer of food and the US has naval dominance. They could easily block imports during a hypothetical conflict. China doesn’t even have a chance at being #1 until that changes.
Hegemony yes, very much. As for the country itself, I look forward to having a healthy constructive relationship with that amazing land and people. I admire a lot of what you guys achieved over the past centuries. But the empire aspect is hurting everyone, including yourselves
