I’ve had some neighbors, friends, and family get closer and some pull away after getting into law enforcement. Usually it’s just annoying questions or opinions or looking for my opinion on something law enforcement related.
I have a positive relationship with my neighbors. We are not friends per se but always say hi and help each other so more like good acquaintances. When it snows and I am not home my neighbor will plow my driveway for me and has offered to let me borrow tools/trailer ect when doing work around the yard.

I would say as any person with any career, it’s normal for your neighbor to like or dislike you.
This depends a lot more on your personality than your employment status. Same as other relationships.

Nah, they dislike me for other reasons.
My neighbors LOVE seeing the cop car outside when I head home for a lunch break or to use the bathroom it’s “free extra security” as they put it
If we were neighbors I wouldn’t care as long as you don’t act like a dick. I live in NJ, there’s chill and wild cops over here.
My neighbors don’t really like it but I don’t live in the best neighborhood either. But my landlord loves it. So I guess it’s mixed reviews.
I live in section 8 apts and park next to a trap house. They love it. It keeps the oops away

What a general question that could be applied to anyone
Every other house on my street has a patrol car in the driveway, and I haven’t gotten any complaints about it.
Neighbors liking or disliking you is an experience every single human being on the planet goes through.
My neighbors have no idea what I do for work. I’d like to keep it that way.. If they knew, they’d probably hate it though.
