Attorney/client privilege

Location: Ohio

I am a minority shareholder in a company that is being liquidated by the majority shareholder. The company’s attorney will only speak to myself and the other shareholder due to attorney/client privilege. The majority shareholder is insisting for an additional family member to be part of contractual discussions. The family member is not an attorney nor are they employed by the company. Our attorney will remove themself form representing us if the shareholder insists. How do I explain this is very simple terms they may understand of why attorney/client privilege is so important.
