Becoming an Automotive Safety Engineer or something like that?

r/

I am a freshman currently studying finance, on track to graduate early. If I switch to Mech E or a different type of engineering, I will be at college for the full four years and possibly some more time. Over this past year, I have been thinking, and over the past few days I feel like I would feel fulfilled by having a part in automotive safety, like designing car airbags and safety structures, or testing cars (Like IIHS and NHTSA). How would I go about doing this? I was thinking that getting a Mech E degree would be a good start, though it requires math and other classes that I am not sure I can do. Any advice and guidance would be appreciated

Look up the salary for those job positions and the responsibilities that come with them.

I bet finance has more opportunities and an easier role.

I highly suggest getting into a career that supports the lifestyle you want then use the extra time to find fulfillment.
