I want to make a subspace for anyone seeking advice on anything from more ‘normal’ mental health stuff to fostercare. I’ve gone through a lot & I take solace in helping people not make the mistakes I made. I’ve just aged out of fostercare a year ago, I can give advice on how to deal with aging out & how to find post-fostercare housing. This is not a normal subject, but when I was going through all that, I had nobody I could talk to about what came next besides maybe a social worker I liked, which even then, she was supposed to have only younger kids & knew nothing about aging out. Great advocate though & she did her best.
Legit none of the adults around me at the time knew what I was supposed to do & how to move forward, so I understand how isolating that experience is. I want to open up a conversation about that bs as this is such a taboo subject with anyone in life for whatever reason.
