Before you’re allowed to buy a motorcycle you should have to sign paperwork saying you wont make a gofundme when you get into an accident. Youre forcing your family and friends to pay for your thrill seeking! I have seen at least 3 of them

They should really just get rid of GoFundMe at this point. It was supposed to fund interesting ventures that banks wouldn’t fund. Now it’s just sob central.

Why don’t we get to the root of the problem and make American healthcare affordable

Gofundme for motorbike accidents isn’t a thing in other countries, only America

Dude, the VAST majority of motorcycle accidents are from people in cars not paying attention.

Sure there are some stupid teens on bikes doing stupid things…but there are ones with cars as well. Most people on bikes are respectful of laws. My husband owns one and when I ride with him the times Ive seen people try to turn into us even though they had a clear view of everything is absurd.

So you being like…they shouldn’t have a gofundme blah blah blah… f*ck you dude. You dont know what happened.

You don’t seem to differentiate if it was the motorcyclists fault or not.

No, because they’d have the GoFundMe.

No one makes you give your money. Dumb rant.

my 70 year old dad has owned motorcycles for over 50 years and never had an accident. He’s an excellent/ safe driver on his motorcycle or in his car.

You’re penalizing the friends and loved ones for someone else’s risk taking.

Recently my insta feed is flooded with posts “my last selfie before <some grim accident>”, many of which are indeed from bikers and I hate seeing them, especially since I don’t even drive.

Nobody’s forcing you or anyone else to donate or engage with it, OP. Have some empathy and realise that, even if you believe its their fault, it doesn’t mean they aren’t in their right to ask for help. If people decide to help them, despite it being their fault, then that is the donors prerogative.

Is everyone I offended planning on getting into motorcycle accidents and putting the burdon on their friends and family with go fund me? Lol I thought more would agree

money should be the only thing needed to buy something. give the money and receive what you buy. no paperwork or restrictions or nonsense of any kind

Just because someone makes a gofundme doesn’t mean they’ll get any money.

Reminder: who’s fault the accident was doesn’t matter when you’re fucking dying

I’ll go one further: if they die in a stupid, reckless accident they caused (especially if they harm others), they put a picture of the accident aftermath on the casket instead of a headshot. Let the asshole’s family stare that image down & try to read a eulogy or convince anyone the deceased was a “good person”.

L take. Though I think it’s dumb when a motorcyclist attempts more than they could handle (e.g. driving at 142 miles per hour) and crash and get seriously injured, I think it is not good if a motorcyclist is suddenly out of luck if they, for example, get hit by a red light runner/guy being chased by cops.

    Just imagine this:

Alice: “Oh wow, you got hit by a dude in an SUV running a red light at 50 miles per hour. You’re lucky to be alive. It must have been scary!”

Bob: “You know what’s even scarier? The medical bills.”

Alice: “But why? You weren’t found at fault!”

Bob: “Since I was on a motorcycle, I’m not allowed to make a GoFundMe.”

    See, it’s super dumb.

This is funny to me. You act like all motorcycle riders are idiots.

My husband has wanted a bike since he was young, who am I to tell him no? He is fully geared, padded and drives safely. I’m more worried about the jackass drivers who think they rule the road than my husband being an idiot.

To add: who hurt you so badly you feel the need to be a complete and utter jackass in the comment section?

This country’s health care system shouldn’t be so SHIT that people have to set up a go fund me when they get into a car accident.

  23. BRRatchet Avatar

Dude if fat people can make them I can make them, who cares.

i think a better solution is to require drivers and motorcyclists more hours of training before acquiring a license tbh. honestly i wish there were kinds of government jobs (or at least, cheaper private services) that had employees drive in the car alongside drivers and drive motorcycles alongside potential motorcycle licensing candidates for a certain amount of hours as a requirement before issuing them, but that’s truly idealistic and unrealistic, so i’ll continue to dream lol

There’s no need to make a gofundme campaign for accident recovery – that’s what personal injury attorneys are for. They work on contingency (so no out of pocket costs) and will get you the maximum payout. I’m a paralegal in a PI firm, and we have a client who was riding his motorcycle with a friend riding pillion, who was hit by a drunk driver and broke his ankle pretty badly (pillion pal was fine enough to get up and chase the car down on foot as he tried to flee the scene). We’ve recovered $4M in damages so far, and the case isn’t even close to being over.

No need for GoFundMe if it wasn’t your fault, attorney will ensure all bills are paid and you’ll get settlement funds. If it was your fault, well, I’ve always been a proponent that stupidity should be painful.

Before leaving your house you should have to sign paperwork saying you won’t make a gofundme when a drunk driver runs you over on the sidewalk.

A ton of motorcycle accidents happen because car drivers don’t pay attention where are they going and hit bikers. You’re phrasing it as if owning a motorcycle is just thrill seeking, despite the fact they’re cheaper, easier to store, and burn less gas than cars, meaning there’s multiple benefits to owning one.
