I wrote an elaborate heading hoping for some good eyes on my ask. Pardon the Odyssey Easter egg.
Here is the TLDR ask: I am a homeless veteran looking to better my life. I have a honda CRV and good tires so I can get to just about any state (I mean not Hawaii and Alaska thats a bit much)
Due to my physical hardships I was accepted into VocRehab for Chapter 31 benefits.
Here are my requirements that I can for advisement on:
1.) Im looking for a university where on campus housing is readily available. Or statistically they have more room for. It’s not a deal breaker, I have a bed in my vehicle
2.) Leads me to second: I’d like a cooler climate state to study in, so I can escape to my vehicle for book reading.
3.) The university must have either a BS degree in Linguistics, or a concentration: Middle eastern studies, Asian studies. That breaks 3 into two points
A.) Im leaning toward Asian Studies Chinese, as I spent 10 years studying Persian-Farsi, Im in love with Iranian culture, but I feel like I need to branch out and study some more culture and language that makes my heart happy.
B.) I can read/write Arabic, Basic Russian, and only less than 100 Chinese radicals (not to include I can read write Hiragana and Katakana)
My Remote contract position ends in just over 3-4 weeks from now: So im looking at where in the country I can go for these studies and be the most content and dedicate myself solely to these studies. I did in fact consider German, or Romantic languages in general but that’s not an easy decision: In this case I feel the university that can get me in sooner, will lock me in towards making this BS degree a reality.
Thanks for your read! I hope to get great advice. I’ve considered several colleges, but I feel that others who’ve been to these will have the best advisement for me. You know what you know, thank you deeply for all your thoughts you can spare. You are helping me steer this ship with the knowledge of what to move forward with.

Maybe try the university of Pittsburgh or Duquesne university if you want somewhere cooler
