Black char on food sucks. If you cook, black grillmarks on your food should be a source of shame, not pride.

Nuts to black grillmarks; food shouldn’t taste like ashes. Browning is good. Great, even. But I’m so damned tired of every place ruining their food, especially their grilled food, by charring the surface.

    Same is true on a good burger.

    Then again, I was also that kid that’d burn smores because they tasted better that way.

    That’s the one thing people get wrong when cooking a steak. Grill marks = burn marks. A brownish-golden crust is the proper way to get an even sear

    meat i dont like burnt (exception is hot dogs) but some reason i LOVE veggies that have been burnt, and marshmallows have to be charcoal lol
