Boundaries

r/

My oldest is almost 3 and since before he was born we have asked that our kids photos not be on social media. In the last 3 years things have changed and we realized with extracurriculars, schooling, etc how hard that was going to maintain. So we decided to post photos on our Facebook pages, but asked that no one else post to theirs to maintain a little bit of control.

My son woke up at 2:30am and while scrolling on Facebook I saw that my MIL posted a photo of both of my kids on her story!!! I immediately messaged her asking for her not post photos to her page and definitely not her story. She saw it 3 hours ago and it’s still posted.

How do I navigate this? She’s constantly disrespecting any boundaries we have in place. My husband has spoken to her and normally is the one to speak to her about these issues. This is the first time I’ve spoken up myself and my kids. Am I crazy? I don’t know what to do, I feel like all trust is broken.

    You can report it here

There are some hoops to jump through. But hopefully, she will get ding on her profile.

I’d put a moratorium on grandma getting any photos. When she whines about it, tell her that she knew the rule, she broke it and didn’t rectify the situation. So for now, no more pics until she can learn to follow the rules for YOUR children.
