So, my boyfriend (23M) and I (21F) are in a solid relationship for over 2 years. We more or less are living together (99% of the time, I’m at his place and I’m paying a part of the rent too). We have same life dreams/goals (marriage, children, etc.) and have partially similar hobbies (we know each other though one hobby for more than 10 years).
Before my relationship with my boyfriend, I was in a abusive relationship. I also had some mental health issues, for which I was also treated (I overcame my main problems.) I’m also bad with social etiquette because I didn’t like to have contact with other people.
On to the topic:
A cat of ours’ friend has had kittens. This friend wants to get rid of the kittens (sell them or give them away; don’t worry). Because of this, my boyfriend has now asked me if we want to get a cat. I would be okay with that in principle, very okay, but I don’t know if it’s too big a step.
We have a great relationship.
My heart tells me that it would be great, but my (stupid) head tells me that we are not ready yet. Pets aren’t somthing to take lightly. What are your thoughts?
