My mom remarried 5 years ago to a guy with an extensive criminal record. He kidnapped my dog and they started living separately, and recently he has been trying to break into the house to try to hurt us. He beat the crap out of a friend of my sisters that we allowed to couch surf so that he wouldn’t be on the streets but that friend chose not to pursue charges.
Recently she has put in the paperwork to file for divorce but it turns out he has been using two different legal names so the paperwork keeps getting rejected for having the wrong name. Now he has been trying to break in more and more. The police have said they can’t do anything because he is entitled to half the house.
We’ve been trying to file for a protective order but the courts don’t open for another 2 days and we know for a fact that he will try to break in and hurt someone again tonight.
For context I’m a 20 year old man, I moved out of my mother’s house a couple years ago, but I still prefer my mom safe.
