Calling someone for first time but no social skills??

r/

The guy I’ve been talking to wants to play like Fortnite and call but I’m so scared and I’ve been making excuses for the past week of being busy, and I don’t wanna keep doing that to him so I have to do it soon. I’m just pretty shy in real life and I’m so scared it’s gonna be awkward and he’s not gonna wanna talk anymore. Any tips??

I mean if you enjoy his company and he enjoys you, the best thing you can do is be honest with him. Honesty and trust builds a relationship.
say I would like to game first without talking if that’s alright or maybe you can explain to him why and maybe together you both can figure out what works for both of you.

I used to be a very anxious person, I would practice what I was going to say if I spoke, but more times than not I stayed quiet. I thought my voice was ‘ugly’ and I was so anxious to speak to someone over the phone. Then when I started playing games online I was so nervous to breathe loudly into the mic .-. My anxiety only got worse and eventually I started having panic attacks, this went on for years. I can’t tell you exactly how I shifted this mindset, it happened little by little over the years as my desire to heal grew stronger than my fears. Now, although I get nervous at times I let myself be. Sometimes I’m loud, sometimes I’m awkward, but no matter what, I always let myself be. I encourage myself and give myself love and understanding in my head. If anyone ever has a problem with me, I let them. I will not be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s okay, that no longer bothers me. Now I’m free 🙂
