I was inappropriately touched by a physician when I was in my teens and have not had a physical since then & have never been to a gynecologist. I’m 39 now & unfortunately I need to get a mammogram because of a lump that I have found. I am very, very uncomfortable with having a medical worker touch or see any intimate part of my body and even the thought of it sends me spiraling. I’ve been shaking, crying and not eating because of this appointment. I’m tempted to just cancel it because I don’t think I can get through it without having a panic attack. I know people say it’s not that bad but with my situation those comments are meaningless.
