Can I shave body hair?

r/

I (16M) have been going to the gym for about 5 months now. I’ve been gaining muscle, and right now I feel as confident as ever. I’ve been starting to grow a lot of hair on my legs, but the hair on my chest, however, is still very small. I’d like to keep it that way, and I want to shave my leg hair off. I hate it.

When I get into a relationship, I’m scared women don’t like body hair… but all of the male people in my life are telling me not to shave my body hair off.

Is it unmanly if I shaved my body hair? Would it grow back faster? Im definitely overreacting…

I wouldn’t call shaving unmanly, but in my personal experience I’ve never met a woman who disliked my body hair, and I’m a hairy dude (other than my back, thankfully.) Confidence is key in the end though, so whatever makes you more confident.

As a not that hairy mid 20s dude, I’d say do whatever makes you confident and happy. If you think shaving your leg hair will do that, I’d say go for it, especially since it’ll grow back so it’s not like a permanent alteration.

No it won’t be unmanly. Some women might prefer it, some women might not. Try not to make too many decisions purely on what women will like, because at the end of the day there’s always going to be someone who likes you no matter what.

It won’t grow back faster or thicker. It might be kinda itchy and irritating either as it grows back or just from shaving, so if you do make sure you do it right, shaving cream and all that.

Do what you want. Women in general don’t care about details like this. Women get with hairy guys and guys without body hair all the same. Women mostly like confident guys, with or without leg hair.

Ok definitely not unmanly. No it will not grow back faster. I like using hair removal cream, I use nards. I do recommend testing a little bit first as some brands can be a bit more aggressive and irritate the skin.

Do whichever you feel the most comfortable with. And then own it. If you meet someone who doesn’t like it. Tellem to shove it.

If not sure, get a trimmer.

Do whatever you want to do. Honestly I doubt women are going to care that much either way what you do with your body hair (I am a woman)

When I was in high school, a lot of the male swimmers used to shave all their body hair. They never lacked girls.

Not unmanly but I’ll tell ya it’s better to learn to love what you’ve got. Shaving is time consuming and leaves your legs prickly if you don’t do it routinely. Also can lead to ingrown hairs. But try it for yourself and see if you like it.

    Do whatever makes you comfortable.

i wouldnt worry about it.. i used to cut my leg hair w/ regular hair clippers every once in a while, haven’t done that in forever but my leg hair grows patchy af and it used to bug the sh*t of me back when anytime i’d wear shorts.. it was really more for myself than anyone else. calves and leg muscles will look more defined wearing shorts – so it might draw more positive looks from girls who otherwise might not notice you but who knows ehh

Women generally like body hair. Both men and women tend to see it as masculine. People have their own preferences, but I’d also point out that is a running battle. The hair will grow out and be all stubbly over time as you keep shaving it. Shaving will also lead to way more ingrown hairs. Overall it’s way easier, and quite likely more attractive, to just leave it and let it grow naturally.

I shave my armpits, have since I was 14, so its been over 20 years now. I did shave my legs when I was more into road cycling, but my wife wasn’t a fan of it. She doesn’t mind any hair, but I will not let my pit hair grow out. Yuck.
