I paid for 2 hours of parking in a lot and came back to my vehicle booted, although I had 20 minutes left of my paid parking time. I had to pay to get the boot removed and have disputed all this with the parking company -provided photos, receipts, etc. to request a refund. They refunded me for the 2 hours I paid for, but not the $50 boot removal penalty because they said my license plate was incorrect – two letters were switched. I’ve asked for evidence of this but haven’t seen anything yet from them.
I was with my two young daughters when this happened and they were extremely distraught during this whole ordeal while we waited for the boot removal in the extreme heat. The children don’t want to go back in the car or park anywhere for fear that something like this will happen again. I’m livid over the whole situation as it made a very bad end to my daughter’s birthday activity we did that day, in addition to just feeling very wronged by this situation.
I’ve searched for the terms and conditions of this parking company and none are available online- the link they send you to gives a 404 error.
Do I have any recourse?

You could sue in small claims court for the $50, so probably not worth it. Kids will react to how we react to a situation. In any case, there’s not any sort of emotional distress lawsuit here.
