Car fire started out of nowhere

r/

While while on the street my suv caught fire, it came from a faulty installation of the back app wiring? Since the whole right side was the start of the fire, the engine and the transmission are in tact. , my kids and I just got out of the the 15 prior to the fire/explosion.

I purchased this as a certificate preowned vehicle at a huge dealership. About 2 years ago.

The whole car is gutted we lost everything including $2500c phones computers, my firearm and my medication. All this info has been well documented by the fire dept as the cause of bad wiring. Is this a potential law suit?

That’s their guess, or assumption, or did they write a report and blame a specific bit of wiring, and they’d be willing to testify? Probably just their assumption?

Insurance should be handling this. Insurance can see if there’s anyone to go after.

    Glad everyone’s OK!

Who are you planning on suing? Use your comprehensive coverage on your auto insurance, if you have it, for the car. Homeowners or renters insurance for your other personal property. They can seek recovery from someone else if they want and if there’s even a viable case there.

Otherwise, sure sue in small claims court for anything not covered by insurance. Or just contact whom you believe is responsible and make a claim with their insurance because a lawsuit will end up with the insurance anyways.
