I honestly am so shocked I am apparently in the minority here who think this.
My experience watching a minecraft movie in the cinemas got ruined by screaming kids and teenagers shouting chicken jockey and stuff like that. Been called a loser and things for saying those people should be banned.
cinema etiquete and rules state you should be silent and turn off your phones to enjoy the movie.
parents need to teach their kids to behave. also dont throw food and drinks everywhere cause i feel so bad for staff.

I know in the US it’s normal. But in the UK you STFU. Screaming during a horror is fine, can’t be helped same as laughing in a comedy. But OMG HE’S BEHIND YOU. No.
A guy applauded in the cinema once, he started, he quickly stopped when nobody joined in and loads of people laughed at him. Who are you clapping lol.
Should’ve banged their mom. Noob
This is an extremely popular opinion. Such a dumb post.
I’ve seen videos etc of the US culture of cinemas being more reactive. But in the UK it’s a case of fuck up or get out.
I even feel bad getting popcorn when it rustles a bit.
You aren’t wrong, but, man, the theater was electric during Avengers: Endgame. The experience wouldn’t have been as fun as it was if people acted like they do in a regular movie.
Never go to a showing of Rocky Picture Horror Show if you feel this way.
I don’t exactly think this is an unpopular opinion in a general sense, that you should be quiet in the cinema, so I downvoted.
I do think that the Minecraft Movie has been associated with this type of behavior. It’s important to remember that you, an adult, are not the target audience for the Minecraft Movie. And if you have children who had their own “experience ruined” by other kids yelling chicken jockey, you should probably be asking yourself why you raised such a stick in the mud who tut-tuts at other kids instead of yelling along with them (saving for sensory sensitivity, which theaters are accommodating for by creating sensory showings anyway).
I went to see the Minecraft Movie at the proud age of 26 years old, but I went in recognizing that I’m not the target audience and the target audience was going to enjoy their movie in a particular way. So what did I do? Yelled chicken jockey with the kids and then looked over at my girlfriend and laughed and cheered with them.
It’s okay to have a human experience once in a while, you know.
under all circumstances i would normally agree, however, some films attract this crowd and i cannot be too mad at it. what artistic meaning are you really missing from the minecraft movie if a few teenagers are loud
You aren’t wrong but you did see a child’s movie. Children are kinda notorious for being loud when they are supposed to be quiet.
But the Minecraft movie was marketed as one with the audience reacting to it. That’s the vibe they asked for. They want it to be the Rocky Horror Picture Show for kids
How is this unpopular? There are signs to be quiet and a reminder to silence your phone between the movie trailers and the feature film
For me I didn’t mind the kids, it was people like you – a Karen who was yelling over everyone “SHUT THE F*** UP”. Me and my gf left cause we got sick of people yelling telling the kids to shut up. I didn’t even mind the kids having their fun, it was sort of funny. Kids haven’t assembled like this for anything in so long cause they are all usually at home on the internet.
Your problem started with you going to watch the Minecraft film and expecting anything else. Honestly it’s probably slightly more tolerable taken as a live audience experience than as a standalone film.
I love how this incredibly normal, reasonable opinion would be met with a shower of “fun police” “ok unc” and such if posted on a certain other app/site.
Definitely not an unpopular opinion OP.
No one likes people talking and making noise during a movie, except maybe on premier nights. I remember when theaters in my home town would host parties where it was an event to go see a movie on opening night.
take so cold it froze the sun
You got mad at kids for being at a kids movie?!?! And did they make you miss some dramatic plot twist in that sure to be Academy Award winner?! Which part made you cry the most? That stunning acting performance from Natalie Portman? Or when Steve had to say goodbye to the person he loved the most?
Grow the fuck up and manage your expectations better!
this is the unpopular opinion subreddit
I get it you want a proper cinephiles experience, the children should keep their eager feelings to a gentle snap, as to not disturb those of us in deep thought behind the meaning of the chicken jockey rather than simply bawking like a sea lion at the mere sight of one! How dare these preposterous youths disturb your quiet study of the prestigious and acclaimed Minecraft film
I would normally agree, but not for the MC movie
I would agree for 99% of films.
But honestly, if I was going to the minecraft movie, I would expect it to be full of rowdy kids.
Why do you think this is an unpopular opinion? Wrong sub buddy.
I’ll never go to a movie theater without hearing protection again. The trailers and the movies are so loud.
I haven’t been to a movie since before covid and probably won’t until another star wars comes out
It’s always been a congregation of loud assholes so now with a 65 inch tv, there isn’t a point
Bruh. It’s a kid’s movie. Are you also mad when people aren’t bleeding from their mouths because they didn’t bite their tongue hard enough to stop from laughing when you go see comedy movies?
