Coniferous forests like the Spring Mountains Pinyon-Juniper Woodland and the Rocky Mountains are way more beautiful than tropical islands like Hawaii or French Polynesia

r/

Most people think tropical islands are the ultimate paradise crystal-clear water, palm trees, endless beaches. But honestly? Forests like the Pinyon-Juniper woodland feel more peaceful, powerful, and unique.

When I visited Mount Charleston, I was blown away by the towering Pinyon Pines and Junipers, the cool mountain air, and even patches of snow near Las Vegas. It felt like being surrounded by real, alive nature—shadows shifting through pine needles, trails that lead into quiet wilderness.

Tropical places are nice, but after a while it’s just sun, sand, and water. Even untouched beaches can start to feel the same. The Spring Mountains forest has texture, scale, and mystery. It changes with elevation and seasons. It’s not just a view it’s an experience.

I’ve been to both types of places multiple times in my life
Give me pine trees over palm trees any day.

I like trees and hills too, brother.

Mountains are better than the beach.

I completely agree. In my line of work, I’ve spent a lot of time in the mountains of Northern California, and a dense forest is a beautiful site. Pines, firs, cedars, redwoods… truly breathtaking.

Moraine Lake in Banff National Park is far more beautiful than any tropical location I’ve ever seen and it’s not even close.

I think you are the right track brother. No matter what the life is, it is all beautiful but the life of a coniferous tree is special. I frequently ask people about the path to and life of a coniferous tree and they don’t seem to understand.

To me the beauty of the coniferous tree is their ability to grow in the harshest of environments. It speaks volumes to me

I completely agree. Even better or northern boreal forests. There’s something about them that feels right to me.

Comparison is the thief of joy. They can both be beautiful. You can have your preference, others can have their preference. No need to dwell on it.
