Hey! I was thinking about this idea after watching a video on YouTube where someone was talking about whether you could use robotic ants — like tiny mechs — that follow pheromone-style trails to autonomously explore disaster zones.
The idea was kinda like using a digital version of how real ants work, with each little robot acting as part of a swarm or hivemind to map an area without needing humans to control them.
I thought it was a cool concept but they didn’t really explain if it could actually work in real life or not. Like is this something that’s even remotely possible with current robotics or AI?
Not sure if anyone’s seen it — I think the channel was called BioForge or something — but yeah, just curious what engineers think of that kind of idea.
