Crazy but true!

Please don’t share. Still healing from this. But I need to get it out.

I was 34 weeks pregnant when MIL called me in tears saying her boyfriend hit her.

I told her: Call the police.
She said: “I can’t. I’m too scared.”
She begged me. Shaking. Crying.
I gave in.

So I called the cops for her.
Gave them names, addresses — everything she told me.

Later that night I told my partner. His first words?
“How do you know he hit her? My mum lies.”
I was stunned. Why didn’t he tell me this sooner?!
I never wanted to be in the middle.

Fast forward:
💥 I’m in hospital. 9 months pregnant.
Complications. Wheelchair. Induced labour. 20 hours in.
Phone rings. It’s the police.

They want a statement within 7 days about what MIL told me.
I tell them: “I didn’t see anything. She just told me.”
Also: “I’m literally in labour. In hospital. On an epidural.” 🙃

6 hours later:
🚨 Emergency c-section.
🩺 Baby in NICU for 4 days.
🛏️ I’m in hospital for a week.
The whole police thing? I forget.

6 weeks postpartum, I’m drowning.
My baby won’t sleep.
My incision has opened 3 times.
I’m on pain meds, antibiotics, and have mastitis.
My parents are terminally ill.
I develop PPA + OCD.
My house is my only sense of control.

Then one night:
🔫 A knock at the door.
I’m in a dressing gown and underwear.
There’s a cop. Armed.
I’m served a subpoena.

He says: I’m a witness to a crime.
If I don’t show up in court — I’ll be arrested.

I. Was. Speechless.

I called MIL. “Why would you do this to me?”

Her answer?
“Well, you didn’t write a statement, so I had to.”

(For the record — she NEVER asked me for one, a cop did)

I told her I couldn’t see her until court was over.
🗓️ 4 months later — the case settles. Day before trial.
One week later at a family event, she walks up and RIPS MY BABY OUT OF MY ARMS. 😳

And here’s the kicker:
She stayed with that same man for four more years.

No apology. No remorse. Just drama.

I now refuse to be alone with her. Ever again.
