For starters, I know I need a lawyer. However I just found out mine has had her license revoked and I have put all my money into her so I’m screwed until I come up with thousands again. Anyway, I have an active divorce case going on. Currently, I have primary custody and my ex gets supervised visitation one week a month at his parents house. This is a typical, he’s a dead beat and grandparents cover for him kind of situation. Anyway, the case was kind of put on hold several months ago because my ex had pending criminal charges and the judge wanted to see what the outcome was before deciding. However, he stated if my ex got even ONE day of jail time he would “consider that heavily”. Fast forward, my ex is now being held without bond until a hearing he has in October. With that being said, I’m just trying to figure out since he is incarcerated, what do I do next now that I don’t have an attorney and can’t afford one.. I would assume I don’t need to send my daughter to the grandparents since they are not the ones with custody/visitation but I don’t want to do something illegal and ruin my chances. I’ve talked to the courts and they just repeatedly tell me that they cannot give legal advice. Please someone help. I need to know what to do next & if I have to still send my daughter. Thank you!
