DAE develop a connection with the car in front of them on a long road trip?

I don’t know what it is, but when I’m behind the same car for hours it feels comforting, like the car is my companion. Then when our paths diverge I get a little sad lol

I was on an 8 hour trip once and spent probably close to 3 hours cruising behind someone. They got off at a rest stop, and we honked and waved at eachother. Definitely brightened up the most boring drive I’ve ever been on

Not when I’m just behind someone but when we start taking turns passing others we come up to / each other then yes lol.

On a road trip through Alberta there were 3 of us doing like 130-140KM most of the way (illegal yes don’t judge) and every time we came up on another car we would take turns passing starting with the back, when I turned off finally the other 2 both honked and waved and I waved back
