DAE eventually completely changed their job roles and actually felt “happy”?

I might be transitioning to a role that is completely different but still within the same industry. Just wanted to hear how others in a similar position felt when they made the change and cope with it?

Yeah, I totally did that about five years ago. I switched from working in events to marketing, still in the entertainment industry. It was kind of scary at first because I felt like I was starting from scratch. But man, it was a good move. Events were fun but super stressful and didn’t really fit my lifestyle goals. Marketing, on the other hand, allowed me to use creativity, analyze trends, and have a more balanced life. I realized I was actually way more passionate about all the behind-the-scenes stuff than running around managing events. While the learning curve was steep, it felt amazing to dive into something fresh. One thing that helped was being open to learning from everyone around me. I asked tons of questions and really tried to soak up as much as I could from colleagues. That kept me from feeling overwhelmed. It also reminded me how much more there is to learn and that it’s okay not to know everything at once. Go for it—you might end up loving it in unexpected ways. Sometimes, you just have to go where the opportunities take you and see where you thrive.

Switching from working days to working nights! My god the difference is astounding. I get all the stuff I like about my job and very little of the stuff I don’t like. The stuff I don’t like usually involves talking to a bunch of people, and that’s gone because everyone is sleeping.

The big sacrifice is that this lifestyle is very hard on the body
