I’ve tried looking this up but haven’t been able to find anything similar.
Just for background on my character, in case this matters, I’ve never been a confrontational person. I will go out of my way mentally and physically to avoid conflict. I also have a very hard time saying no, and will give the shirt off my back to even people who may not deserve it.
Ever since I can remember, my head and eyes do this thing where, when I do stand up for myself and blurt out how I really feel (like word vomit), my vision will immediately start to swim and I get dizzy. It only lasts for a second.
DAE experience this? I’m wondering if it is a physical reaction or sudden chemical release in my brain?

My flight or flight response kicks in whenever I’m in a conflict, even if it’s just verbal or typed
Guilt and/or anxiety. It doesn’t matter if you consciously feel it, your body is still reacting with panic
Probably somehow related to adrenaline or anxiety. I had a very close call, would have been deadly car accident the other night (where I would have been the one killed). After that adrenaline rush I was messed up for a couple days.
I’ve had this happen. It feels like when a dog that’s growling, holding back, and finally barks back at the aggressor. Vision goes blurry for less than a second and then everything is fine. No dizziness.
i think i know what you mean. sometimes when i’m really angry my vision goes all grey and i get really dizzy for a half second
Sounds like an adrenaline rush of some sort. I used to have this and also vomiting whenever I got angry. Vagus and nervous system dysfunction
Yes! It’s been a while but I know the exact sensation you’re talking about.
Yeah, I feel the physical effects of anxiety when I get to the point I have to be confrontational, because that’s not in my nature and I have to be really upset for it to happen. I always feel a slurry of negative emotions after.
Not every single time, but sometimes when I maintain an intense state of anger or rage, it kicks in.
Activation of the sympathetic nervous system, pretty sure that’s our flight, fight, fawn, and one more response.
