DAE feel like they get more tired after drinking an energy drink?

r/

I don’t like coffee or tea so an energy drink is really the only way I get my caffeine. However, there are some days where I feel like I get even more sleepy after drinking the energy drink. Does this happen to anyone else?

Edit: I have ADHD and take a non stimulant medication. (The stimulants made me a zombie)

yesss, omg, that totally happens to me tooo! like, i’ll feel all hyped up for a sec and then, bam, super tired. it could be the sugar crash or the way caffeine affects us differently, idk, but it’s kinda annoying! maybe try a different brand or something with less sugar? who knows, it might help!

Are you ADHD? Sometimes people with ADHD have the opposite effects from caffeine

Before I even clicked on it and I just read the title I’m like bro probably has ADHD. I clicked on it and low and behold you have ADHD.

Caffeine calms me down up to a point then goes back to working like an upper.

Yes. Coffee makes me sleepy. It must be all the warm cream.

I get this way too with most caffinated drinks I do not wake up at all I’ll end up sleeping, I think this is just an odd thing with my ADHD tho

Maybe try two or three energy drinks. Remember kids: the path of excess leads to the palace of wisdom.

Yes, but epileptic (so lots of the seizure meds are used for other neurological conditions).
I wish sugar free Red Bull did the job. Sadly, Bang is super pricy and difficult to obtain where I live.

A couple hours later maybe. During it I just feel like I want to lay down because I’m so anxious. Then it wears off and I’m like “thank god I can finally lay down”.

    That sounds like ADHD, bud.

If I drink too much coffee, I get what I suspect is “adrenal fatigue.” I feel more tired instead of less tired.

Really should try a different stimulant.

I make sure I drink a whole bunch of water when I start feeling like that, often those ingredients and caffeine needs water and hydration in your body to work.

i don’t really feel the effects of red bull or monster. I feel the most effects from celsius, and reign.

I didn’t used to but I weaned off it and now if I have too much at once I do. I also have ADHD and I think I may have like, changed how I reacted to it by starting energy drinks as a teen? But now I only drink V8 energy most of the time and if I have like, a medium sized Dutch bros rebel I have a problem. So I went from the average response to the ADHD response after reducing my intake. Weird.

Recently yes. Week or so ago I drank a Rockstar- and then took a nap shortly after.

I have that problem with coffee, but not with tea or energy drinks.

I’m good with energy drinks. But coffee makes me extremely sleepy, and that’s really sad because I love coffee.

I get this if I don’t eat something and drink some water first

    Lmao. Are you serious?

    Water.

Drink a Fiji Water and feel how light your body feels compared to an energy drink.

    It begins…Mike Judge called it!

My son and I both have ADHDand both of us can drink a Red Bull or a Monster before bed and still fall sleep

I can’t stand Energy drinks. Make my legs sore and achy. Tea and coffee make me drowsy as heck.

Funny, when we’ve a long drive, my wife always wants a coffee for the road. I’ll have a black coffee and by time it’s finished I struggle to keep my eyes open.
