DAE miss when you could genuinely stumble upon weird, cool, unexpected corners of the internet?

r/

It feels like algorithms just feed us variations of what we already like, and search is so optimized for popular results. I miss that feeling of true discovery, finding a random blog or obscure fact that sparks real curiosity. How do you find that kind of “random wonder” online anymore, if at all? What are your go-to methods for breaking out of the bubble?

You just need to spend more time these days looking for it because there is so much around. But I still WTF a lot actually.

I get a lot of random subreddits mixed in with my feed. That’s how I usually find new things, and then you have a whole new subreddit of that stuff.
I sort stuff by highest vote of all time, then you really get the highlights.

Try Cloudhiker. It’s a lot like StumbleUpon in the old days if you remember that. It takes you to random websites based on categories you select. I love it and it keeps me off social media and the algorithm type pages. Cloudhiker
