It feels like algorithms just feed us variations of what we already like, and search is so optimized for popular results. I miss that feeling of true discovery, finding a random blog or obscure fact that sparks real curiosity. How do you find that kind of “random wonder” online anymore, if at all? You just need to spend more time these days looking for it because there is so much around. But I still WTF a lot actually.
I get a lot of random subreddits mixed in with my feed. That’s how I usually find new things, and then you have a whole new subreddit of that stuff.
I sort stuff by highest vote of all time, then you really get the highlights.
