DAE put their glasses on to fall asleep after throwing up in the middle of the night?

r/

Trying to see if this is a unique experience. I have high anxiety and tummy issues and throw up once every 3-6 months or so in the middle of the night. In order to fall back asleep, I have to open my window all the way to get cold air on my face, prop my head up slightly with my pillows, and wear my glasses. Idk why but wearing the glasses part is like the magic key to help me fall back asleep.

Nope. Can’t say I’ve ever heard of anything like that.

I wonder if you have vagus nerve issues. If it is involved, it can cause anxiety and nausea and because it’s connected to all the nerves in your face and sinuses, sometimes putting on headphones or maybe glasses I suppose could be enough stimulation to assuage the issue temporarily.

I think it’s the same as that “pinch your nose when you feel nauseous” thing. Which I actually don’t know if it’s a myth or not, but if not it could be a similar principle

Well I don’t throw up so I don’t know about that part but I do sleep with my glasses on. They are pretty durable and comfy. And I had many occasions where I woke up, couldn’t find them even though they were right in front of me and then I was late from school. So I learned to sleep in them. No more being late because I’m blind
