[DC COMICS] Why is Dr Phosphorus called Dr Phosphorus❓

It doesnt make sense. I’m not sure that phosphorus burns green. Why is he called that if it doesn’t really match the description of phosphorus(from my POV), or maybe the name just sounded cool❓

    While you’re right in that it doesn’t burn green, it’s very iconic for burning hot and destructively. White phosphorus (aka Willy Pete) was often used by the military as an incendiary weapon.

    With that in mind, it makes perfect sense for a supervillain to use it as the basis of his name.
