Brethren moons are sentient necrotic life-forms with the ultimate aim to consume all biological life in the universe to produce more of their species. They begin this process by creating a Marker to planets and civilizations that manipulate the intelligent species of dominant civilization by posing as a new energy source that will be reproduced but in reality was to create necromorph infestations. The Markers inducements hallucinations, dementia and aggressive tendencies in dominant species to create more corpses to spread necromorph infestations that will fused with the planet to create a Brethren moon called a Convergence event.
Unlike other Necromorphs, Brethren Moons are sentient and intelligent as they communicate telepathically with one another and even to their victims and while their main aim is reproduction, they see themselves as divine or gods that determine the fate of biological beings thus clearly capable of complex thought or even moral agency.
Considering their omnicidal ambitions would Superman consider killing a Brethren moon?

Superman would not want to kill anything, even something incredibly evil. But he certainly wouldn’t let it destroy other sentient life either.
Ultimately if left with no choice he would probably come to the conclusion that undeath is not close enough to life to really count as killing and he would destroy it. But only after exhausting other possibilities.
Superman isn’t Batman; and even batman has killed before, and if you include non-humans, numerous times. Superman would just toss the moon into the sun without hesitating once he understood exactly what it was he was dealing with.
Superman absolutely would, once he realizes what it is and what it’s capable of. He doesn’t like killing, but he doesn’t have a no-kill rule.
Undead + Omnicidal.
Sorry, doesn’t count as life.
Brethren Moon will be obliterated.
Superman destroyed Mandrakk IIRC. The Brethren Moons would meet the same fate.
Yes.
Superman tends to not hold back against the undead. Their ego only enters the equation to confirm to him that it’s impossible to reason with them.
Plus Superman is not Batman. His no kill rule is more a guideline, he can and will kill if needed. Hence why he’s killed Zod repeatedly, including in their very first meeting.
The only reason he doesn’t have a much higher kill count is because the people who can push him hard enough that he doesn’t have a choice are also really hard to kill. He’s done his best to kill Doomsday, Brainiac, Henshaw, and Darkseid for instance. The Brethren Moons would be like the Antimonitor, who Superman killed.
Superman doesn’t kill if he doesn’t have enough to. He doesnt go killing a purse thief because he doesnt need to. He doesnt kill a robber because his strength and personality permits him to stop them with less than Lethal force.
A brethren moon is 100% evil, is not living, and has no qualms about killing everything to make more moons. It would 100% be destroyed by superman because of exactly what it is.
It does make me wonder, I don’t know enough about about Superman to know what kinda of resistance he may have to the marker signal, and the one the moons emit is, I believe, way stronger than the normal one. Him being Superman, I imagine he could tank it, but I don’t know anything to go off of there.
Oh yeah, fuck those things, they’re zombie generators and they have to go.
If it can’t apply for a social security number after living a week in LA, Superman doesn’t mind killing it.
Friendly reminder that even the Bat-Family, the biggest conglomerate of “all life is sacred” fighters on Earth, goes full-lethal when it comes to zombies. They don’t mind destroying the Court of Owls Talons because they’re already dead.
Yes hes pushing all of them into the closest sun instantly. No hero would object to killing deadspace, not even batman, when dealing with even regular necromorphs. Once he knows there’s no cure and they are just dead bodies being forced to move, he’s disintegrating them. Batman doesn’t kill humans because they can be redeemed or they need to face jail time, not execution. But undead he’s putting on his hell bat armor and erasing them.
