[DC] In the 2004 Batman vs Dracula movie, Dracula cannot be cured but his children can, does this follow vampire logic?

r/

I understand that anything supernatural inherently doesn’t follow logic but just humor me. In the movie Dracula refers to vampirism as a disease that his children are infected with. When Alfred shoots him with the cure he laughs and says “you can’t cure my supernatural affliction”. I’m just curious what makes his vampirism different than when his created vampires. They may not have the same level of power as Dracula but Joker as a vampire showed that he retained his intelligence and personality compared to the others.

Usually in fiction the first, oldest vampire is cursed somehow in a supernatural manner that isn’t curable by science. That’s why holy water works as well.

This is a common monster trope. Vampires, zombies, wendigo.

The “alpha”/”patient zero”/”queen” (in this case, “Dracula”) is the vampire. Part of his power set is to convert humans to lesser copies of himself. These copies are often curable.

While the copies might superficially resemble the alpha, they aren’t the alpha.

So Dracula’s children are made via a mechanism that can be cured. Dracula is not. They both appear similar, but they aren’t the same.

The mechanism Dracula uses to make new vampires is curable. It is not the same as the mechanism that made Dracula a vampire. Dracula didn’t bite himself.

he seems to be a straight up undead, however his spawn seems to be corrupted.

think of it this way, he’s like the one ring(just picked a random cursed object) the people he’s corrupted can be cured, but he can’t

He was born of or created by a supernatural entity/event; he’s not infected he’s afflicted. His victims, however, are infected, and can be cured.
