[Dc] Is earth a more dangerous planet in the dc universe if compared to the others?

r/

It’s been a long time since i consumed any dc media(i am planing on seeing more i just need to get over my procrastination), but i was thinking about this. I don’t remember there being any super heroes that lived in krypton, and from what i remember, that applies to many other planets like mars or tamaran(might be wrong, i know in mars and tamaran they have natural powers). If there where no superheroes on the dc earth then all humans would die, but all of these other planets managed to not suffer major disasters for long periods of time. Is earth kind of like a death world in the dc universe?

those other planets do die though.

so while it’s true that Earth/Humans have the evolutional potential for a wide range of super powers that other species don’t have, other alien species get wiped out all the time

Mars/Martian- Almost Kryptonian level. Yet a war between the 2 dominant types of martians resulted in the destruction of their planet and 99.9999999% of the Green Martian species

Krypton/Kryptonians- So focused on xenophobia, they contained themselves to 1 planet, which when it was destroyed, wiped out essentially their entire species barring those in the Phantom Zone, sent off in space, or kidnapped by Braniac

    Tamaraeans- Conquered as slaves

Mongul alone once essentially conquered Daxam, a planet where the Daxamites are a sister species to Kryptonians, but their xeophobia (even greater than Kryptonians) means they never interact with alien species/worlds, never travel to a yellow sun to get powers, etc etc. so the entire planet is really just “space humans” in terms of physical strength

so Mongul just showed up one day, and could have killed the entire species and there was nothing they could do. It took the intervention of the one Daxam Green Lantern (who was also now exposed to yellow sun) and another GL to defeat Mongul. so with the absences of super powers, or a Green Lantern, their planet/species was doomed.

there are tons of other “weak” species, that simply got conquered or eradicated by more powerful alien species

if anything, Earth is unique in that, their super powered individuals protect the planet just so it can be threatened again

so while with other species/planets, once a global threat rises, they just get destroyed/conquered

with Earth, they fight off the threat or solve the problem….only for a new one to arise next Tuesday

When you factor in local villains, alien and demonic invasions, out of control powers, evil or fascist conspiracies, Earth is a deathworld.

Or at least New York is given most of the action seems to start there 😄

Not on a full Death World , but it’s indeed one of the more dangerous planets. Or planets with high meta-activities and interstellar events.

That been said , ironically enough , it’s NOT the most dangerous planet , that goes to the Vega System. An entire Solar System in which each planet is an interstellar society with meta-powers. So while DC’s Earth have a huge variation of meta-population , in a sense , the Vega System is basically multiple Earths stacked on each other.

Warworld is the closest of a Death World , with the “bonus” of been mobile and actively raiding other planets.

And that is ignoring the Far Sectors , which are in the fringe of the Intergalactic primary societies , so anything goes there.

    Yes.

Earth in DC is canonically the most important world in existence and draws weird shit to it like moths to a flame. Other planets have normal problems, Earth faces complete catastrophe every few weeks with cosmic catastrophe happening at least yearly. This is why it has 7 active Green Lanterns assigned to its sector while the norm is 2 Lanterns per sector. A sector being the universe divided into 3600 parts, resulting in a single Lantern being responsible for hundreds to thousands of inhabited worlds or more.

So yes and no. It’s dangerous because not everyone has powers. So if you are one of the oens who can’t do powerful things it’s dangerous.

Whereas it seems other places, powers are common place so everyone is on equal footing.
