I remember a friend telling me a story about how when out hunting, his dog led him to a deer. He shot and missed, and the deer ran away.
The dog turned around and slowly walked away, not looking at him even when he called it several times…😊
Pretty much every animal has preferences, yeah. Whether you can label the expression of those preferences as disgust is more of a philosophical question about how similar our sensory experiences are to other species, but most animals at least know well enough to keep away from dangerously spoiled food and rotting corpses.
We had a dachshund who HAD to smell anything you ate or drank. One day my DH was drinking some scotch. The dog wanted a sniff then turned his head and barfed all over the couch.

You seen the vid of that cat tasting yoghurt? 😀 funny if nothing else
Try looking up videos of Camels being tricked into eating lemons.
Cats who dont want their food sometimes visibly try to “bury” it
Have you never met a house cat

I was eating some slightly stale popcorn and tried to share a piece with my dog and she turned it down. 😂 I felt judged.
Someone’s never had a pet

I passed gas while our cat was on my lap, they looked at me with disgust and left the room.
If you have a cat you’ll see an animal express disgust every day.

Dad had a bird dog that, if he was having a bad day and missed several, she would refuse to hunt anymore and head back to the truck.
