I drive on the highway quite a bit for my job. The last year or two, it seems like people are generally driving a tad faster. This is completely anecdotal. Previously it felt that “traffic” seemed to flow at 5 over the speed limit on a regular basis. Today I’m seeing traffic flow at 10-15 over the speed limit. I’ve seen it flow 10-15 over, right past state troopers.
I’m wondering if the advent of LPR’s has made the troopers less interested in speeding tickets? If the LPR alerts to a car with open warrants, is that consuming time otherwise spent writing speeding tickets?
