Do people perceive Colombia as being much more prosperous and richer than Peru? just because us Peruvians have more indigenous features? (Too afraid to ask)

So i became obsessed with Colombia as it is a country in LATAM which virtually no one hates in contrast to Peru. Do people perceive Colombia as being much more prosperous and richer than Peru? just because us Peruvians have more indigenous features?

After a lot of research i came to the conclusion that Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Paraguay and Dominican Republic all are pretty similar / about the same in terms of wealth, average well-being, and quality of life, but is Peru perceived as the poorest or even at almost the same level of Haiti just because most of us look racially indigenous? and why though?

Peru still suffers from Señorita Laura en her carrito sandwichero.

Peru is perceived as poorer because it is, mainly.

Colombia’s stereotypes are usually linked to drug trafficking and violence.

Mexico is more indigenous than Colombian and Mexico is way richer .. try trolling somewhere else ..

Colombia is also more black than Peru so some might perceive Colombia as a poorer country in South America. We all have biased perceptions

Peru is indeed poorer than Colombia tho. It has lower GDP (PPP), worse infrastructure and worse economic complexity. Colombia seems more violent tho.

Dominican Republic has highest GDP per capita than Peru

The closest to Peru in this list is Ecuador

And Brazil, no, due to the sheer size and population of the country you can’t compare to any of the list, some regions of it are much richer and others are more similar

What? Lol. First, Colombia has its haters, but your admiration, although uninformed, is flattering. Second, I am not quite sure what the thing with the Indigenous features is, but I think Peru has real issues to deal with. Third, I’ve never heard anyone comparing Haiti to Peru. Finally, Peru has a very strong country brand that goes beyond the image of poverty that you just mentioned.
