Do people usually change their bedsheets after having sex?

r/

I am a single guy in my mid 30s and have never had sex before.

I am just curious to know: Do people usually change their bedsheets after having sex?

Is it because the bedsheet will have many sweat stains after sex? And that is why they immediately change their bedsheets after having sex?

    No, I fall asleep

  3. Ok_advice Avatar

Well that depends on what type of sex was being performed

  4. pixelsguy Avatar

There are other fluids that can end up on the sheets that may warrant laundering sooner, but generally people just wash their sheets regularly (every week or two), and that’s still sufficient for sexually active people.

  5. Bingo_Swaggins Avatar

We’d be drowning in laundry if we changed the sheets every time

  6. Mr-Duck1 Avatar

    Nope. Never.

If you think it’s going to be extra messy (period, squirting, etc) just put down a towel. Other than that the phrase “sleep on the wet spot” exists for a reason.

  7. valerioshi Avatar

only if she drenches a considerable portion of the sheets

  8. Ban_AAN Avatar

Depends what we did, but not unless I really have to.

Eg; I have a seperate sheet for candlewax, that gets messy fast. But regular sex… not really. Maybe that one time in summer when the entire thing got drenched. But even then… meh

  9. Mikeforchat9898 Avatar

    nope we don’t….

  10. tiemeupplz Avatar

Most sex really isn’t that messy especially not with a towel underneath.

  11. Tennis-Wooden Avatar

If she squirted everywhere you might have to, generally managable by putting a towel or two down depending on what kind of squirter she is. It was years before I found my first, so odds are you won’t need to bother. Some women don’t squirt at all. In general, most of what you’re going to be is sweaty and content and tired.

I keep a waterproof sheet on the mattress, makes clean up a lot easier later.

In general though, it won’t really impact your sheets or mattress more than regular maintenance and laundry would normally call for. I wouldn’t worry about this at all, if you do need to change the sheets, great job! She’ll definitely be coming back.

  12. Aromatic-Tear7234 Avatar

We aren’t all sloppy squirters out here buddy. As long as there is no juices making it onto the sheets, you should be good to go. As far as sweat, I would doubt that’s a major factor for many people.

  13. SeveralConcert Avatar

No. We put a “love blanket” beneath us and that’s sufficient

  14. darthenron Avatar

    Just put a towel down!

  15. felton639 Avatar

We usually prepare for the mess so not really. With condoms the mess is contained until you get to a bathroom and pull it off.

  16. D3V1L5_4DV0C4T3 Avatar

Everyone needs to get a blanket to throw on top of the bed for sex. Washing that is easier than redoing the sheets every day.

  17. criminalsunrise Avatar

No, we change them much more often than that … every few weeks at the latest!

  18. BluebirdFast3963 Avatar

Honestly, slept with lots of girls in my day and never had 1 single girl “drench” anything. I don’t think that much fluid would be normal and I don’t think I would even like it.

Even if they were super wet and I could feel it around my crotch area it never got all over the sheets like people say it does on the internet.

Maybe I was just a bad lay, but I don’t think so. Pretty sure most of them came. lol.

  19. BTTPL Avatar

Some of y’all are gross if you aren’t putting down an extra layer (towel) and probably have some funky ass sheets. So, OP, to answer your question, a little bit of A and a little bit of B. No we don’t typically change our sheets afterwards unless visibly wet with various body fluids, but we always use a towel in-between us/sheets because that’s easy to do and hygienic.

  20. NotDelnor Avatar

Only if a significant amount of bodily fluids end up on the sheets, and I’m not counting sweat

  21. slim1kid Avatar

Nope my wife and I don’t. We wash our sheets every other weekend. But we keep a spare set in the closet just in case they get too wet during sex. Quick replacement of the wet sheets and we good, no sleeping in the wetness!!

  22. FlyLikeMouse Avatar

    The pros do it during.

  23. Jazzlike_Spare4215 Avatar

No that would lead to a lot of laundry for most couples. Put down a towel if you know it will be messy

  24. ouattedephoqueeh Avatar

Do you have more than one partner? If the answer is yes then yes, change the sheets between partners.

Otherwise wash your sheets once a week.

  25. RumoredReality Avatar

Depends on the quantity, quality, and type

  26. Spartan2022 Avatar

Not every time. I don’t want to keep my washing machine and dryer running 24/7.

  27. chamathalyon Avatar

as i dont live with my s.o. i try keep the sheets to contain her smell for when shes not sleeping with me.

  28. Historical-Ad-146 Avatar

Usually not. Depends how messy things got, though.

  29. StatikSquid Avatar

You think I last long enough to sweat?

  30. CrustyFlapsCleanser Avatar

The living rooms god damn mess but yeah

  31. KlausVonLechland Avatar

Putting a towel over your bed sheets is also an option, just saying.

  32. NagoGmo Avatar

Depends on the state of the sheets honestly

  33. Turds4Cheese Avatar

It depends. If it’s hella messy, I’ll do laundry.

Most of the time, it’s not too bad. Some careful rolling techniques keeps most the sheets clean.

On average, I’d say I do sheets every 2-3 weeks. Unless their is a mess.

  34. preyta-theyta Avatar

    nooo that’s 6 changes a week 😩

  35. BillionTonsHyperbole Avatar

Only if we’d forgotten to lay the big towel down.

  36. erichie Avatar

With my wife or long time partner; no. Wil casual flings; every time.

  37. Big_Azz_Jazz Avatar

    We don’t no.

  38. Material_Variety_859 Avatar

These comments are hilarious. We keep a linen closet full of sheet sets, super easy, pull the sheets off, place clean ones on, dispose of sex sheets in hamper for regular laundry activities.

  39. Mundane_Reality8461 Avatar

    Nahhhhh

I just grab some tissues to keep it from falling out of her onto the bed. Usually no wet spot!

  40. Badassmcgeepmboobies Avatar

Use an extra towel or sheet man. It’s what I do

  41. D3V1L5_4DV0C4T3 Avatar

Well every couple of days, depends on how much it’s absorbed…

  42. Garbanzobina24 Avatar

I have not had sex either but in the future I’d just lay a towel or maybe one of those waterproof sheets on the bed before hand.

  43. redstarfiddler Avatar

Tbh I just do my best to pull out above some piece of laundry I can wipe up with instead of leaving a mess on the sheets

  44. Vash_85 Avatar

No, not really. Have there been times we did, absolutely… But definitely not every time, and it wasn’t from sweating lol.

  45. TomStanely Avatar

You have to put a towel on the bed when having sex so that you dont dirty the sheets

  46. an_edgy_lemon Avatar

In my experience, most people don’t. Some people put down a “sex towel” or blanket. Others don’t care and just do it on the bedsheets.

  47. Beardgang650 Avatar

Bask in the magic you have just created

  48. MoistMustachePhD Avatar

Nah wife and I like to sleep in our mess lol

  49. 5alarm_vulcan Avatar

Back when I had several partners coming over in one week I’d change sheets between partners because that’s the hygienic thing to do. And of course the ladies appreciated having fresh sheets to sleep and have sex on. I had many sets of sheets and would just do a load of 2 or 3 sets of sheets every week.

Now that I have one partner I just have a towel specifically for sex and it generally does a good job and keeping things clean enough that even if she comes over a couple times a week I can wash my sheets once a week and that’s fine.

  50. Auronbmk92 Avatar

    Always bring a towel

  51. j-mac-rock Avatar

To an extent depending on how sweaty it gets and how many fluids come out

  52. SurvivalHorrible Avatar

It depends. If it’s a long term partner, no. If it’s a short term guest, probably.

  53. Oregon-izer Avatar

waterproof fleece blanket. its a game changer

  54. systembreaker Avatar

No not after every time, god that would be a pain in the ass.

  55. PrintError Avatar

Depends. Wife and I don’t usually leave stains, but when I go to see my mistress she soaks the mattress, so we strip her bed down every time. My other girlfriends are kinda hit and miss, but generally “it depends” is the answer. None of us are heavy sweaters.

  56. MNmostlynice Avatar

We throw a blanket down just incase

  57. Responsible_Cap_5597 Avatar

I’m genuinely shocked at so many not washing their sheets after sex. Maybe because I’m a woman…I wash my sheets every week regardless of sex, but after every time when there’s sex.

  58. Few-Coat1297 Avatar

We change ours once a week. I think it’s maybe different with ltrs than single dudes.

  59. Rushshot2gun Avatar

    gif

    Pretty much have to

  60. Porsche-Turbo Avatar

Depends on how wet she gets 😉

    Use a towel if needed

  61. SpeciousSophist Avatar

Nobody changes the sheets immediately. And if anything it would be because of bodily fluids.

  62. Few-Cucumber-413 Avatar

Depends, some sessions have a LOT more body fluids that can wet the sheets. Not every session requires changing.

That being said, if you’re going to frequent multiple partners change the sheets in between.

  63. Glittering_Potato632 Avatar

No. I’m not changing sheets every day.

  64. preyta-theyta Avatar

    nooo that’d be 6 changes a week 😩

  65. itsagoodtime Avatar

Uh because it may have cum stains. It doesn’t just stay in one spot.

  66. tom_yum_soup Avatar

Immediately after? No. The next morning, maybe.

The reason isn’t so much for sweat, but for other bodily fluids that can tend to end up on the sheets (less of an issue if you’re using condoms, but still a thing).

  67. Odd-Scratch6353 Avatar

Yes. And clean your bathroom before you bring a lover into your space. Like, really clean it.

  68. theonejanitor Avatar

    no, but they probably should

btw sweat is not the only thing staining the sheets lol

  69. lilbabynoob Avatar

I wash my sheets every week. Towel down before sex is a good way to make sure the sheets last through the week.

  70. SoCaFroal Avatar

No, but for general maintenance, we change our sheets twice a week, regardless of how much sex we’ve had

  71. MagosB Avatar

    Put down a waterproof blanket.

  72. Charming_Height_2295 Avatar

    Once a week my dude

  73. thmaniac Avatar

    Not if you’re living together.

If it’s some random date then it has been recommended to change the sheets.

Women have good sense of smell.

    Gotta wash everything. Everything.

  74. Hairy_Major2428 Avatar

    Depends if she squirts lol

  75. PaintedDeath Avatar

Told my girl last night, “Don’t worry babe, I’ll sleep in your wet spot”.

    She thought that was romantic.

  76. DarkBlueEska Avatar

It’s usually not necessary. Things don’t get THAT sweaty and messy most of the time.

But yeah, sometimes the final act makes a bit of a mess and you gotta make the executive decision that I ain’t sleeping in all that. Sweat is generally not the issue, though. If you really expect that you’re gonna sweat that much, nothing preventing you from throwing down a towel. Lot easier to wash a towel than all your sheets.

  77. AdjectiveNoun1369 Avatar

Fuck no, changing the sheets is a pain in the ass and I’m too tired for that. We bought a waterproof blanket. It’s nice and soft, and makes cleanup as easy as folding it up if it didn’t get too messy, or throwing it in the hamper if it did. We love it so much we eventually bought a second, smaller one for travel (or when the first is in the wash).

  78. TSOTL1991 Avatar

No, I just roll over and go to sleep.

  79. zinger301 Avatar

We usually have sex after changing the sheets. There’s something about clean sheets that gets her motor running.

  80. KoolAidMan7980 Avatar

Single guy. Mid 30s. Still a virgin. Bro you have about a 1000 more steps to take before you need to worry about the bedsheets.

  81. Jswazy Avatar

I have never seen this happen or heard anyone say they do it. Honestly most sex isn’t messy.

  82. No-Cauliflower-4661 Avatar

No, we just put a towel or blanket down each time

  83. Conscious_Skirt_61 Avatar

OP has yet to learn about the wet spot.

  84. max_power1000 Avatar

I’m more likely to change the bedsheets after a big steak and getting the meat sweats than I am after sex. It’s usually just one fairly localized damp spot rather than my whole damn body.

  85. OKcomputer1996 Avatar

No. Just when they are soiled or very sweaty. So it depends on the sex.

  86. Complete_Pea_8824 Avatar

Mattress protector under the sheets. And we use a waterproof pad with a towel on it, saves the sheets, 😝. Got the pads off of amazon. Came in a pack of 4, throw them in the washer and dryer with the towels, easy peasy!

  87. Professional_Echo907 Avatar

No, but I changed the tablecloth.

  88. HotWaterSnake Avatar

No, I don’t think I ever changed the sheets right after having sex, at least not because of the sex. I will often change the sheets before sex tho. Also, you should wash your sheets once a week regardless, 2 weeks minimum

  89. AppropriateGas5741 Avatar

WATERPROOF MATTRESS PROTECTOR. We use two on top of each other. My girlfriend gets really sweaty (among other things) and it can get a little disgusting. So yes, I always change the sheets after the deed. Or every week if not.

  90. Visionary_87 Avatar

Nah, I’m not changing my bedsheets after 23 seconds of use.
