I used to, but now I take ADHD medication several times a day and that usually prevents me from being able to nap.
Occasionally I’ll wake up earlier than I’m supposed to on my days off and won’t be able to fall back to sleep, but once I’ve had breakfast I get sleepy again and even a double shot of espresso with my medication can’t keep me awake but that’s pretty rare.
No, because it takes me forever to fall asleep even when I’m tired so I can never predict when to set my alarm for a proper nap. If I nap without an alarm, I’ll sleep for 2-3 hours and then feel like absolute shit when I wake up and then I can’t sleep at night when I need to.
I used to nap a lot to escape. Now my naps are because I just don’t have the energy to stay awake. Mine are usually 1.5-2 hours. The other day, it was 3.5, I needed it.
only if im sleepy or tired or something and cant push through or do stuff effectively. otherwise its a waste of time, better to do other things and sleep more at night.
Yes. If I’m exhausted and can’t focus then it helps rejuvenate me. I also do it if I’m tired or might be tired when I have an event in the evening and need to be awake for hours. Sometimes I just do it for fun. If my dog is napping, I’ll join in.
Sometimes… maybe 1x/2weeks. I used to struggle with pretty severe depression and taking naps was an unhealthy coping skill. Now when I nap (unless I REALLY need it) I feel kinda sad and down when I wake up. I think it’s a weird trigger!
Yes but usually 20 mins, and never longer than 45, I always set an alarm. Any longer than that I can’t think straight for the rest of the day and I don’t know where I am anymore, plus I don’t actually feel more rested after 45, just sleepy and out of it.
I love it. I would take naps in class during breaks or lunch. As soon as the teacher says break time. My head hits the table and I’m out cold. My classmate would wake me up when class starts. Even at the library when I’m studying long hours I would just close my eyes, still sitting, then open my eyes 20 mins later. All refreshed.
My classmates are surprised by the fact I can just fall asleep right away.
Only when I’m sick and even that’s a struggle. I find it difficult to fall asleep during the day, I’ve always been this way. I sleep 8-9 hours a night consistently so no need for naps, I’m full of energy all day until about 8 pm.
Not deliberately, I see them as a waste of time bc there’s never enough time in a day to do everything I want to do, whether I’m employed or not. This is why I can’t understand how people get bored if they’re not at work. If I’m napping, the nap took me and/or I’m sick and/or wiped out bc I woke up way too early trying to get more “me” time, like yesterday.
Yes, whenever I get an opportunity. Being a dad, I look after my son during the day and it’s tough to get those since I work at night. Can’t complain if I earn minimum wage while my wife makes at least 5x more.
I love naps but I can rarely sleep before it’s bedtime. Recently I took a short nap at my mom’s house. Waking up to her after a luxurious lil nap made me feel like a kid again. My best naps happened at my Mamaw’s. Her back bedroom was cozy and soooo cold.
Yes. My “super power” if you can consider it that is that my naps are only 10-20 minutes. I naturally wake up around that time, I don’t need an alarm. And I feel refreshed after ready for the rest of the day.
Not on weekdays, occasionally on weekends. I used to nap every single day but I can’t really do that with my work schedule and that’s probably a good thing
Yes, every chance I have because I have had insomnia for several years… It doesn’t always work and might just worsen the insomnia at night but I’m so tired all the time.
On the weekends. I have a toddler that takes on in the middle of the day so the wife and I take advantage. Probably the reason we get nothing done in the weekends.
Before kids, yes. Now, not so much. I tend to go to bed earlier than I used to now for a fuller nights sleep. I miss crashing on the couch some times though. Nice little refresher right in the middle of a day off 🙂
I used to hate naps until I turned 40, and suddenly I was taking them too. Now I take blood pressure meds that make me napping; and my spouse is a keen napper too. They used to she me more tired, but now I feel refreshed.
Literally just woke up from one. Why? Because I was sleepy, and it’s one of my days off, which don’t always happen on a weekend, or together. Sometimes I work 8 or 9 days in a row. Sometimes my shift is 4am to 12:30, sometimes it’s 1pm to 9:30, sometimes it’s 6:30 am to 3, sometimes it’s 9 to 5:30.
What I’m getting at is naps are awesome. I do my best to get 8 hours of sleep a night, but those hours vary.
Yes. Firstly because I am an old fart. Secondly, since I had Covid in early 2020, I still have some energy issues. I don’t need it everyday anymore, though.
Not regularly, but I don’t fight one off either. I try to limit them to 30 minutes max when I feel a little sleepy right after work so I don’t sleep too much and then have trouble when I need to actually go to bed
I used to be the worst napper. I would wake like a bear every time. Now, being sick, I can sleep all day. I took 3 naps yesterday, but I didn’t get to last down at all on Easter lol
Only unintentionally. I’ve never thought to get into a bed mid day for the purpose of sleeping.
I have been lying on the couch watching something with my dog next to me and dozed off. I don’t sleep much at night and never use coffee or energy drinks to keep me awake. I’m just naturally able to function on little sleep.
No. It doesn’t change anything. I’m still perpetually tired, no matter how much I nap (except at night when it’s actually time to sleep). So I might as well not lose parts of my day.
It varies. I’m currently incapable. Can’t sleep in the day and can barely sleep at night. Sometimes I go weeks where I need like 9-12 hours at night and still nap 0.5-4 hours a day, and anywhere in between.
I take naps whenever my body is telling me it needs to recharge. My naps can be anywhere from 15 min long to 20 hours long. Yes, I once took a 20 hour nap accidentally.
Yes. I very rarely get more than 5 hours of sleep at night. To make it through the day, I have to get a 1-2 (maybe more) hour nap at some point or I’m no longer productive. Getting through the work day is manageable but I need a boost to get the house work done afterwards.
I used to have to always take a nap every Sat/Sun and sometimes a smaller nap or teo during the workweek. Then I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and that’s why I was so tired lol. But also just have so many chronic health issues my body always wants to rest.
Sometimes. If I’m dead exhausted after coming home from the day, I usually take a nap. I try to aim for like 30 minutes to an hour nap time so I can actually get some sleep but I still have time left in my day. Of course the 30 minutes can very easily turn into 4 hours.
Naps feel pretty good, especially from what the feeling is pre-nap. They can also work as a little refresher when coming back from school or work.
I do not because the days go so fast, there is not enough time in the day to do what I want to do for my enjoyment and family after giving most of your day to a job. If I took a nap, first of all, when do I have time for that, and 2, when would I have time for that
No. I wish I could but I’ll set my alarm for 20 mins and then the entire time I’m trying to sleep, my mind is racing, “my alarm is gonna go off in ___ mins” and it also takes me a good like 30 to 40 mins to fall asleep so I never know how long to set my alarm for to ensure I don’t nap for longer than 30 mins.
Yes! Because they’re awesome! For as long as I can remember I have always been a sleepy person, I was the one that missed out on all the fun at sleepovers cause I’d fall asleep! After school everyone would go and play out, I’d have a nap! But as I’ve got older I don’t seem to need / want as much sleep, but I still have a nap at any opportunity!
Yes. I started last year. The trick is to strictly limit how long they are. I find a 30 min nap is really refreshing. Over an hour and I just want to go back to sleep.
I have some pretty heavy medication that i have to take midday. Taking it makes me very dizzy and sleepy and a nap follows (if works allow me to do so).
Can anyone answer why I feel sick after a nap? This didn’t start happening to me until after college. If I sleep for more than 20-30 minutes then I feel nauseous and usually have a headaches. It makes me really sad. I miss napping.
In general I take a nap when I’m not well, otherwise I don’t take a nap, to avoid not sleeping in the evening.
My living situation means that I have a peaceful pace of life, that’s it. No obligation.

I get 30-minute breaks in between my 7.5 hr work schedule. I have a place where I spend those 30 minutes sleeping. It refreshes me and gives me the energy to work for another 3-4 hrs without feeling tired.
Comments
yes but afterwards i always feel even more tired
yes. because i am eternally sleepy and i cant help it
Rarely, but yeah. I just get tired
Nope. They leave me fuzzy brained.
I rest for a few hours.
Absolutely
I do, but unfortunately the nap turns into coma ( I hate that )
I used to, but now I take ADHD medication several times a day and that usually prevents me from being able to nap.

No I don’t, I never took naps, I just sleep 7-8 hours at night and that’s it, I am good to go….Oh yeah I also love coffee
I’ve only found success with Navy SEAL naps
anything longer than that and my circadian rhythm is discombobulated
yes, because I’m tired
No, because it takes me forever to fall asleep even when I’m tired so I can never predict when to set my alarm for a proper nap. If I nap without an alarm, I’ll sleep for 2-3 hours and then feel like absolute shit when I wake up and then I can’t sleep at night when I need to.
Sometimes, not always.
Hell yes! The key is 20-30 min, which is typically in-between sleep cycles/phases. If you can learn to nap….life gets easier, or more manageable lol
I try and fail to most weekends. I fail to b/c kids and dogs are loud and often I’m woken up by someone.
I used to nap a lot to escape. Now my naps are because I just don’t have the energy to stay awake. Mine are usually 1.5-2 hours. The other day, it was 3.5, I needed it.
No, because unless I’m sick, I get sleep paralysis when I nap. No bueno.
No, because no matter how long or short of a nap I take, I get up feeling a bit hungover.
No , my mind keep convincing me that sleeping is waste of time 🥸
Yup. A most enjoyable part of life.
Nope. Waste of time. Too much fun to be had outside of work to waste it napping. Life is short, have fun
Yeah, I have a sleep disorder and also POTS which makes me chronically tired. Not ideal but it is what it is.
No i just close my eyes for sometime
-mom
Yes, because work is exhausting and energy drinks only help for a few hours. I am a professional napper. 😏
Every day. Naps make everything better!
Yes, to try and make up for lost hours of sleep during the week.
Yes. Insomnia, so if I don’t take a nap when able it does not mean I can “save” it for the night time. Take what you can
No, I don’t have time. If you’re young and you can afford the time to take a nap, do it. Those days will one day be behind you
only if im sleepy or tired or something and cant push through or do stuff effectively. otherwise its a waste of time, better to do other things and sleep more at night.
yes. somniphobia at night is an arse
No. Can’t fall asleep when it’s bright outside
Yes, because I’m chronically ill and sometimes put too much strain on my body.
yes. 48 years old.
yes. i am incredibly depressed.
Yes, I’m sleep deprived this week, and napping always helps me recharge a little bit.
Every Saturday.
No because everytime I wake up from a nap I’m drenched in sweat and feel like I was sleeping for days lol
When I can. Naps are awesome!!!
No. I find it hard to go to sleep at night if I’ve napped in the day
Yeah how else am i gonna kill time at work
Yes, or else the results are terrible. I might actually talk to people IRL. Such scary things can happen
Yes. If I’m exhausted and can’t focus then it helps rejuvenate me. I also do it if I’m tired or might be tired when I have an event in the evening and need to be awake for hours. Sometimes I just do it for fun. If my dog is napping, I’ll join in.

I would if I could.
I can’t unless I’m absolutely exhausted. My brain doesn’t switch off
yes because i can barely stay asleep for more than 4 hours at a time
No because the shitty feeling after is not worth it
Sometimes. If I’m tired, I’m tired. Sometimes a nap feels amazing.
Not usually because I get up so late in the day
damnit you woke me up!!
Yes.
It’s the best way to avoid the depression.
Plus I don’t sleep well alone. So after 6 months of being single I still don’t sleep well.
I try to not nap, because I tend to sleep way too long and wake up feeling groggy 🥴
I just want to escape the world most of the time
I do. I have mal de Debarquement Syndrome and even working half a day leaves me exhausted and in need of a nap.. yay for MdDS! …
Always, everyday. I don’t sleep enough at nights.
I just woke up from one. Naptime is my favorite time of day.
Never really used to, but I do now that I’m in medical school. I use them to refuel for studying 🙃
Rarely. I’m too groggy when I wake up; it’s not necessarily refreshing for me.
shhhh ….
Yes but usually 20 mins, and never longer than 45, I always set an alarm. Any longer than that I can’t think straight for the rest of the day and I don’t know where I am anymore, plus I don’t actually feel more rested after 45, just sleepy and out of it.
I don’t schedule naps but on occasion do fall asleep while reading a book midday. It does not affect my night time sleep.
Napping is one of my favorite activities. I seem to dream more during naps and remember them better. I like the free entertainment
Yes. I stay up very late for the peace that surpasses all understanding.
Can’t do it. Any time I attempt a nap, it turns into a sleep.
Yes. I love a good nap in the afternoon on a hot day.
No. They mess with my sleep schedule.
Yep
Because I love them
Naps are great, especially after a bad day at work when you just need to shut off your brain a while.
Yes, because I’m devastated post-workout and need to crash out.
Only when I’m sick and even that’s a struggle. I find it difficult to fall asleep during the day, I’ve always been this way. I sleep 8-9 hours a night consistently so no need for naps, I’m full of energy all day until about 8 pm.

Yes, whenever I get an opportunity. Being a dad, I look after my son during the day and it’s tough to get those since I work at night. Can’t complain if I earn minimum wage while my wife makes at least 5x more.
Nope! Not tired.
Yes, because I rarely sleep well at night anymore. But I have to keep them short I next thing I know, 4 hours has passed.
I wish! I think about naps all day long but i NEVER get one. I work two jobs seven days a week 😞
Daily naps should be mandatory for all ages
Yes because otherwise I’d be completely sleep deprived
Yes. I get the 2pm slumps and have to take a nap 😴
Yes. I work nights and on days off, I take naps prior to any driving so I’m not drowsy driving.
I love naps but I can rarely sleep before it’s bedtime. Recently I took a short nap at my mom’s house. Waking up to her after a luxurious lil nap made me feel like a kid again. My best naps happened at my Mamaw’s. Her back bedroom was cozy and soooo cold.
No. I can’t even manage to sleep in my own bed at night when I’m exhausted, so it’s almost impossible to nap during the day.
I don’t take naps. I have, however, been taken once or twice by a nap, especially when my cat crawls into my lap and puts the whammy on me
Yes. My “super power” if you can consider it that is that my naps are only 10-20 minutes. I naturally wake up around that time, I don’t need an alarm. And I feel refreshed after ready for the rest of the day.
I try not to but sometimes it just happens…and when I wake up I don’t know what time, day or year it is
Yes because naps are good for me.
Love a nap
Only on weekends, usually Saturday. I’ll make breakfast then I catch up on sleep in the recliner.
Can’t unless I am sick. I start the mental math of my day and will not rest. Would be nice if I could. Also can’t sleep on planes or cars
I can’t when i sleep im awake and can’t really sleep till night
Yes, if I am Tired mid-day and my schedule allows it. Why…? because I’m tired.
I don’t take naps bcoz I get headaches due to incomplete sleep cycle.
Yup. I’m tired.
I used to but my new liquid iron supp keeps me going all day like a normal 20yo (I’m 30)
If I was told I could no longer nap you would legitimately have to take my shoelaces and keep me away from sharp objects.
The only reason I’m not napping right now is that I’m currently enjoying thinking about the nap I’m about to take.
No! I’ve a baby… I regret all those times I had the luxury of having a nap but I didn’t!😬
Nice little refresher right in the middle of a day off 🙂
Yes lots of bat naps 🦇
I get so tired that I have to, but I try not to, because if I take a nap in the afternoon, I will probably have a sleepless night.
I used to hate naps until I turned 40, and suddenly I was taking them too. Now I take blood pressure meds that make me napping; and my spouse is a keen napper too. They used to she me more tired, but now I feel refreshed.
I do, because i can
I want to but I don’t because I either wake up feeling like shit or can’t sleep that night
No. I’m retired, so sleeping in is my “nap.” I hate sleeping in the middle of the day, because I wake up groggy and weird-feeling.
I try not to because when I do I’m basically time travelling closer to the start of work but sometimes I can’t help it.
Yes I much needed
I will not be able to function without them. My meds make me so tired that I just can’t help it. But when it’s time for bed you know I’m wide awake.
Sometimes you just gotta lie down for a bit.
No. It’s physically impossible for me for whatever reason. I cannot nap during the day, no matter how tired I am.
Maybe when I’m older it’ll be easier.
Yes, naps are great
I take them if I feel tired and have an hour of time.
Yes if I can’t work out, I have to sleep for at least 40 minutes to get rid of headache.
I love naps. 20-40 minute power nap! Anytime I can get away with one.
No, if I take a nap I end up being up all night.
I used to be the worst napper. I would wake like a bear every time. Now, being sick, I can sleep all day. I took 3 naps yesterday, but I didn’t get to last down at all on Easter lol
Nope. If I’m tired enough to fall asleep, then I’m going to be out for six hours at least.

Mhm, i love naps.
No. Waking up in the middle of the day feels so weird. And i hate having to wake myself up again.
It varies. I’m currently incapable. Can’t sleep in the day and can barely sleep at night. Sometimes I go weeks where I need like 9-12 hours at night and still nap 0.5-4 hours a day, and anywhere in between.
Depends how well I’m feeding myself and living.
I used to hate them as a kid but as a parent to a toddler now, I just nap when I have the opportunity.
No, because I’m not my grandfather.
Yet..
Yes. I don’t like arguing with my body.
I’m 72. A daily nap is my quilty pleasure.
I used to, but i stopped because i noticed that it would make me feel even more tired afterwards so i just wait for the night to come.
I take naps whenever my body is telling me it needs to recharge. My naps can be anywhere from 15 min long to 20 hours long. Yes, I once took a 20 hour nap accidentally.
No but I’m lucky as I do most of my dreaming whilst awake.
Yes, way too often. And it’s not by accident either. I get cozy, snuggle up w my dog and a fuzzy blanket and just go.
No. Usually snowballs into going asleep
No, because if I sleep during the day I won’t be able to fall asleep at night and then my whole sleep schedule gets fucked up.
Yes, because I work nights 🌙.
Yes. I very rarely get more than 5 hours of sleep at night. To make it through the day, I have to get a 1-2 (maybe more) hour nap at some point or I’m no longer productive. Getting through the work day is manageable but I need a boost to get the house work done afterwards.
I have to take naps because I have terrible insomnia. Trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. So basically naps are the only sleep I get.
I can escape reality in naps I love naps
I used to have to always take a nap every Sat/Sun and sometimes a smaller nap or teo during the workweek. Then I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and that’s why I was so tired lol. But also just have so many chronic health issues my body always wants to rest.
Nowadays I take a nap maybe once a month.
Sometimes. If I’m dead exhausted after coming home from the day, I usually take a nap. I try to aim for like 30 minutes to an hour nap time so I can actually get some sleep but I still have time left in my day. Of course the 30 minutes can very easily turn into 4 hours.

Yes. I am an old ass man and i work nights.
Nah I’m allergic to sleep
No, I normally can’t sleep during the day. And if I do, I need 3 times the time that I’ve been asleep to really wake up again.
Usually no, most of the time a map will make me feel 10x worse
Yes, they are awesome.
Every day, I need them or I can’t function.
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa naps are amazing sleep overall is amazing no matter the form
i wish. but i physically can’t without feeling extremely nauseous when waking up from one
Yes. I started last year. The trick is to strictly limit how long they are. I find a 30 min nap is really refreshing. Over an hour and I just want to go back to sleep.
I’ll just pass out randomly. I never take an intentional nap lol
I have some pretty heavy medication that i have to take midday. Taking it makes me very dizzy and sleepy and a nap follows (if works allow me to do so).
Naps are awesome TBH.
pretty much only accidentally, but when it happens, it’s definitely needed 🙂
Tried and it’s just not for me.
I’ve given naps a shot but I feel weird waking up when it’s the middle of the day and I get enough sleep at night to not really need them anyways
No because I barely have time to enjoy my life, imagine if I start taking naps, I would have even less time.
I don’t because it will mess with my sleep rhythm and I’ll either stay up too late or wake up too early.
My naps usually happen by complete accident while I attend classes online.
I only sleep about 3-6 hours a day anyway so does that count?
Yes because I have a wonky work schedule.
Only if I’m sick or have a migraine.
No because I work full time and have 2 children to support
Yes, because I’m pregnant and all my energy is going to the tiny human rather than the full size one at the moment
Yes because I’m so tired 🥲
Practically every day. I don’t take naps on days when it’s not convenient to do so.
Naps take me actually
I wish I could, but no matter how tired I am at the time, or how little sleep I’ve had recently, a nap will fuck up my ability to sleep that night.
Can anyone answer why I feel sick after a nap? This didn’t start happening to me until after college. If I sleep for more than 20-30 minutes then I feel nauseous and usually have a headaches. It makes me really sad. I miss napping.
im 41, a little nap, not really sleeping but sleeping but closing your eyes for 30/60mins it’s nice!
No. If I sleep it’s gunna be at least 5 hours
Yes, makes me feel better and more productive.
Grumpy people suck to be around.
Lucid Dreaming
my dog naps and she sleeps and snores all day, meanwhile other dogs are off starting businesses on Instagram making millions.
I don’t because I can’t sleep at night if I do! Even a short 30min cat nap ruins my night sleep.
In general I take a nap when I’m not well, otherwise I don’t take a nap, to avoid not sleeping in the evening.
My living situation means that I have a peaceful pace of life, that’s it. No obligation.

Yes, 15-20 minute naps. The best
