Like, having an ankle holster or something makes sense. You dont have a guarantee that you wont lose your gun or whatever, you can expect literally anything as a cop
But in the same time, shootings are rare. Like how often is it? Once a career? Never?
So there wouldnt be much of a need. But in the same time, i see why it would be useful. Might be a stretch though
Also, hauling all that gear isnt easy. So carrying ANOTHER gun doesnt make it better.
So, do you carry one? What are your opinions?

Shootings may be rare for most officers however high risk stops can be much more common, which means the risk is there. The only annoying part about a back up gun is having to qualify with it lol
Officers are unlikely to shoot anyone in their career.
I carried one when I was uniformed patrol, in case I couldn’t get to my primary I could access the back up with either hand.
It’s one more gun to worry about in a scuffe. While easy to get to, it was a pain to put back after leaving the jail.
Always. In my stocking. Just like in the movies.
