Do you celebrate Easter throughout the week?

r/

I’m agnostic but raised Christian by my entire mom’s side including her so while I’m at her place around these holidays I call myself a “cultural Christian” lol (I’ve attended mass before, haven’t in a while but participate in other customs regarding Semana santa). I do it mostly out of respect and being used to it I guess, I don’t mind, but I also don’t feel any particular changes in my perception of faith.

So, does anyone relate? Do you not celebrate at all? Do you do it religiously/as intended?

I’m gonna guess people from Uruguay don’t, given they’re a secular country, but I don’t know about the rates of religious people there.

I couldn’t care less, but I’m always down to receiving some chocolate bars and looking forward to some panettone since they’re sold year-round here. In fact, I don’t celebrate anything, Easter, Christmas, Independence Day, or even my own birthday.

I’m an atheist, but I’m still going to eat fish on Good Friday. Does that answer your question?

We meet for Good Friday to eat fried fish. On Saturday people meet for the Easter vigil, and Sunday they go to church. There is a tradition of visiting seven temples on Easter Sunday. However, as far as I am aware, there are no family gatherings like on Christmas day.

Yes! I also don’t eat meat every friday during the whole quaresma/ cuaresma, with my parents. But I don’t really eat meat so that’s barely a sacrifice. I also still somehow this kind of grief in the sacred Fridays too. And then on Sunday I am more than happy to eat a bunch of chocolate eggs!!!!

I am agnostic but lately I’ve been reading more about catholicism and also buddhism!

My family used to celebrate it, but I don’t. I’m not religious, so I just got me a nice Colomba Pascal and that will be it. I’m not even buying chocolate eggs anymore, they’re extremely expensive and have been becoming more and more awful with each year. However, I like the tradition.

Same sort of deal of cultural Catholicism. Not the entire week typically just cooking before hand and that Saturday is typically like crafts centered around it
