Yes!! It almost happened to my mother.. it took an hour that she woke up! They were afraid that she almost passed away! Anesthesia is very risky for older people! That’s why they let them sign papers before that risk is on your own
Great question to be fair, I got transferred to a different hospital whilst in recovery post op and thought they must have renovated the ward completely whilst I was having my surgery
Yes, I believe you would know you didn’t wake up from surgery. The YOU is the soul. The soul always knows where it is. Our skin and bones are just a layer our souls are clothed in. Souls are forever.
Still one of the maddest things that happened to me in my life was I was going under before an operation and while I was just still about conscious the anaesthetist casually put his clipboard down on my chest like I was a piece of furniture, and I was like “Uh-oh, this dude is not going to take good care of meeeezzzzzzzzzzzzz”
Probably not; I flatlined and was revived during surgery, I didn’t even know for a few days. I just felt like I woke up from a nap, there was no surprise or forgetting I was going to wake up in the hospital.
Another time that happened, I had no awareness I missed two weeks; when I woke up and was told what happened, I just checked the other leg that had a new-ish tattoo for damage. I saw it was fine and went back to sleep. It felt no different than a nap.
Someone needs to read more philosophy. You don’t get to experience the death. You died. You go from conscious, unconscious, to nothing. You don’t even know.

I don’t think dead people know they are dead.

How can you go to sleep alive and wake up dead?
Sure.
Unconsciousness slipping into death would be seamless- you are not conscious so you would not realize what was happening.
Headed to surgery in a few hours today. I’ll reach out either way. 👻
At this moment, sounds like a good idea
That’s essentially how pets are euthanized. They’re given a sedative similar to anesthesia then the injection.

I don’t understand the question. If you died regardless of being under GA or Not. How would you know anything? Youre dead.
Nah. You’d go under for the surgery and simply never wake. Probs one of the best ways to go, frankly.
If I didn’t wake up (i.e. died) there wouldn’t be a “me” to have thoughts about it, let alone ideas.

Least painfull way to die, I guess
