I would honestly be shocked if we make it to the end of Trump’s term and we don’t get at least one story of an American citizen being “”””accidentally”””” deported to El Salvador.

There’s almost a million homeless in the US.

    Good luck with that.

Who knows, maybe he’ll send a tens of thousands into scaring the rest. That seems to be his MO.

I don’t know if it will be malice or incompetence, but I would be surprised if it doesn’t happen to at least one person.

The Israel lobby is already asking the administration to look into that YouTuber lady.

She makes videos for kids. In her separate accounts on social media she’s speaking up that atrocities against kids in Gaza and Israel are terrible and we’re supposed to be better than that.

So an Israel lobby asked the administration to look into if she’s being funded to say pro hamas stuff and if she should be dealt with.

It’s already heading that direction. While my argument is a slippery slope, this administration seems to love their slip ‘n slide way of governance.

No they aren’t threats to him or his voters. Homeless tend to populate liberal areas (cities). He’s more likely to bus them into blue cities and states.

Bukele is the one offering the US the opportunity to outsource part of its prison system. Since the US already has for-profit prisons operated by private companies under contract with government agencies, it may not be so far fetched. Even the EU is moving in that direction

    That’s definitely where it’s heading

Sure, that sounds plausible. He’s also likely gonna try to deport his political opponents, even if they’re citizens

Is there some story that this was a plan?  I am assuming that Trump will send American citizens over there at some point, but I am doubtful he would focus on the homeless population. More likely that he would send someone who was born here but whose parents immigrated from Mexico or really anywhere south of the southern border.

I’d bet it’s less likely that homeless folks will get shipped to the off-grid, hidden prisons, and more likely red states with a blue city they despise will continue to pass ordinances and laws that criminalize every aspect of homelessness without outright criminalizing it. The bulk of homeless folks are already an ignored, forgotten, voiceless, minimally advocated for segment of society. Many are already used to the cycle of incarceration in US detention centers, and states aren’t going to give up their easy pickings prison pipeline revenue stream. Iron curtain prisons are for the people that cause actual political problems and “undesirables”. The local drunk that can reliably be picked up for public intoxication every couple of months, fill a bed for a weekend, maybe occasionally do a 6mo bid? Nah, they keep the system rolling and are an easy arrest on a slow day because you always know which park he’s going to be in.
