If I’ve already applied makeup for the day and I go to the gym after that, I don’t make any special effort to remove that makeup. If I’m bare-faced and I decide to the gym, I don’t make any special effort to apply any. I think that’s probably a pretty standard for a lot of people.
Only if I go straight from work. That being said my makeup is pretty bare minimum. I keep wipes in my bag if Iām going to kickboxing because thatās just rude
Sometimes, I still have makeup if I’m heading straight from work to gym, but I try to remove it. It’s better for my skin since most gyms are sweaty, bacteria filled spaces, and my skin tends to break out. If I’m heading from home, I’m definitely going in makeup-free.
Just lipstick, because it’s moisturizing/comfortable and I won’t sweat it off. Everything else would sweat off and it’s not worth the effort to make it waterproof.
I sweat a lot so I donāt wear much. I personally think itās impractical and uncomfortable to wear a full face but thatās just me. I wear some cc cream, blush and fill in my eyebrows. I have rosacea and have struggled with hormonal acne so I feel better wearing a little something. My eyebrows are somewhat sparse but Iām afraid to get anything permanent done to them.
If I already have eye makeup on, it’s whatever. But I usually don’t make a point to do it before, because I usually get sweaty anyways and the point just seems moot.
I used to not buy now I do a little eye makeup (wing and mascara) because if I’m pumping iron and I see myself in the mirror looking fierce I’m more likely to act it and do more reps
I would never in a million years put it on specifically to go to the gym, but definitely donāt remove it if itās already on either.
My gym is a pretty lowkey local one, and i have a partner and busy social life. If I was in the market for a boyfriend or new friend group, and was attending a gym full of people I might be interested in interacting with, then I might consider putting in the effort?
Eyebrows and mascara only if I feel like putting in effort or if I just look like a baby pigeon haha, otherwise I breakout really bad if I have any kind of foundation or concealer on while working out.
A friend of mine went to the gym a while back for the first time in quite a while, trying to get healthy again. She’s pre diabetic and has a ton of health issues stemming from her weight and she’s only 41. I was so freaking happy to see her taking her health seriously again. She took a picture and sent it out to a group of her friends, looking for encouragement and hoping it’ll lead to accountability. Some of her old friends from high school commented how she needed to “put her face on” first next time and they were shocked she dare go to the gym without doing so. There were a bunch of really disheartening and rude comments. And honestly, I think a lot of it was because they’re all very heavy and unwilling to do anything about it or go to the gym. My heart broke for her and now, she’ll literally make an excuse of not going to the gym because she worked from home (she does 3-4 days of the week) and didn’t feel like putting on makeup. I could seriously slap those girls for being so discouraging and rude. I don’t get it.
If I go in the morning Iām not wearing makeup I usually dragged myself out of bed to go to the gym. If I go to the gym at night or the afternoon Iām usually wearing makeup bc I was already wearing it prior
If i have eyeliner or mascara on, Iāll take that off before going to the gym. Most days however my makeup during the day is just concealer, blush and sometimes bronzer, which is applied in the morning, and I go to the gym after work. I may add a touch more concealer under the eyes before going to the gym if Iām looking particularly dead, but thatās about it.
Yes.
Iāll wear a full face of makeup if itās after a work day. If itās a Sunday morning class, Iāll only wear mascara.
I donāt sweat in the face.
Itās physically impossible for me.
Which also made it easy when I lived in Japan – I wore full makeup during their very hot and humid summers.
I donāt wear makeup generally day to day (gym or not). So no, I wouldnāt apply makeup specifically to go to the gym. However, if I happen to be wearing makeup that day then sure. My makeup tends to be very basic anyway so I donāt think people would even realise I was wearing makeup and it would sweat off pretty quickly haha
No, if I go to the gym after work, I wash off my makeup at the gym before exercising. I donāt want my skin to absorb makeup during my workout, itās like asking for congestion on the skin and bumps/acne.
Comments
I never wear makeup to the gym. The sweat dripping off my forehead and upper lip ruins it.

Yes! It gives me confidence and makes me feel powerful. š

No, because I donāt wear makeup in general. I sometimes wear it for special occasions but not generally.
I donāt personally see any point in doing a full face of makeup to train
I never put make up on for the gym, but if I already have it on then I go with make up on. Iād say itās 50/50 for me
Yes as Iād usually go after work

Iāll use some CC cream and mascara but thatās pretty much it
Yes. I never leave my house without wearing makeup.
I’ll use concealer on blemishes as needed and to even out my skintone a bit (naturally a tomato) but that’s about it!
I used to not buy now I do a little eye makeup (wing and mascara) because if I’m pumping iron and I see myself in the mirror looking fierce I’m more likely to act it and do more reps
Personally, no because I sweat a lot and it just ruins it

No lol
Sweating = ruined make up
Plus I’m there to workout, not try and look good for others rofl
Eeeww sweating with makeup on. No thank you.
I always go barefaced to the gym. I train 2-2 1/2 hours and get so sweaty head to toe šµāš« makeup wouldnāt stand a chance if I did.
I don’t. Max I may use my eyebrow pencil.
No, itās just going to get ruined by the sweat. I work out in the morning so I can wash up and do that after.
[removed]
No, it would trap all the sweat and I donāt care who sees me as I look like a gorilla running on a treadmill on max lol
No because it’s bad for your skin to sweat in makeup
Yes, because I go after work and I usually have make up on for workā¦

No, I sweat even looking at a dumbbell.
If I wear makeup in that scenario, I get acne breakouts.
So no makeup for me!

Depending on how well rested I am. I’ll use a little concealer because my eye bags can look scary. Or so I’ve been told.
I like to touch up my brows and wear a little concealer to look more awake. I donāt see anything wrong with that
I take mine off because I donāt wanna be sweaty with makeup on. Just doesnāt feel good.
No, and thatās because I swim laps.
Nah, I donāt really wear makeup up anyways. I am lazy lol

Maybe if Iām testing the makeup or lazy if itās already on
I donāt go to the gym. My job is very high activity, soā¦
I don’t wear makeup period, so no.

No, just some lip gloss āŗļø
I never wear makeup. Except maybe to dress up for a wedding or something.
