There’s about 6 million people of Puerto Rican ancestry living in the continental United States, with about 2/3 of those living in the NYC metro area or Florida.
About 200,000 in Chicago. There’s a giant stylized Puerto Rican flag over a street in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, and a museum dedicated to Puerto Rican arts.
Yes, but it’s regional. Where I live, it wouldn’t be like seeing a unicorn, but I could also go months or maybe even years without seeing a Puerto Rican. I could hardly go a few days without seeing a Mexican or Central American, though.
Puerto Rico is a US territory. They are American citizens. Are you asking if the US mainland has a large PR pop? Are you asking the percentage of the US population is Puerto Rican? Not sure I understand your question

Yes in NYC specifically
Yeah.
Somewhat. There are huge PR populations in NYC and Florida in particular.
Yes
I know the Army did back in the early 2000s. Most likely joining for the economic benefits, like me.
Only knew one older lady from the island in my years here in my state. She moved back 10 years ago.
About 2/3 of Puerto Ricans in the US don’t live in Puerto Rico
I’ve ran into a FEW Puerto Ricans in So Cal but nothing like the east coast. First time i met one was when i joined the Navy, they were everywhere!
It’s something like 65% of Puerto Ricans live in mainland US, about 6 million people
Decent sized populations all over the Tampa and Miami metro areas based on when I lived there.
The area around Cleveland, Ohio is heavily Puerto Rican.

I’d say it’s more on the east coast, at least if you’re talking about large populations.
I think I’ve seen more Puerto Ricans in Florida than any where else, although I understand New York has a large population of them as well.
On the west coast I’m sure they are well represented but not quite as visible.
Again at least in my experience
It’s huge in Orlando. Kissimmee is basically mini Puerto Rico
About 5.9 million Puerto Ricans live on the mainland, and 3.2 million on the island.
Yes more so on the east coast though

The U.S. has the biggest Puerto Rican population.
A lot of them came to NYC to film West Side Story in the 1960’s, and then more came in the 2020’s when they remade it.
