Eating out is better when the restaurant is busy.

r/

When I go out to for dinner which is usually 2-3 times a week I consider this an activity which is part of my leisure time. I usually go out with friends and have some good conversations, the busier the restaurant is the longer time the food takes to be prepared and brought out. This provides plenty of time to have a couple of drinks and converse with your dinner guest. When I order an appetizer I want AT LEAST 15 minutes before it makes it to the table. As an added note I would never complain about the service being too quick.

Completely agree, I think it’s more pleasant if it’s busy then you don’t stuck out.

I like eating out when the restaurant is having a slow day, because I feel more “at ease” knowing they had somewhat of a physical/mental break from their usual busy days, and they are generally more energized/relaxed/friendly because of this.

wrong. its worse because the food quality is worse because they are just rushing it out. eating in a sleepy resteraunt is better because they actually take their time to cook it properly.

As someone who’s worked in a restaurant for 20 years I maybe eat out once every 2-3 weeks, but I love going when it’s slow.

I read “eating out is better” and my mind immediately went somewhere else.

I’m pretty sure you’d get arrested for that

Could agree more although what I’d say is I just don’t want to be rushed.  Especially , if I’m clearly spending money.

You do you. I prefer the correct food cooked correctly without additives.

If it’s completely empty it is odd. I agree with this. Maybe not packed and at capacity but busy is good

If the restaurant is busy, we might be expected to finish eating and clear the table soon so they can seat the next group. Not the case in a fairly empty restaurant.

This is actually true. Plus I love the vibe. I like hearing others around me, it makes me feel safe

    I like a 60% crowded restaurant.

Okay but what about the times you aren’t with friends and your main prerogative is to eat your food because you are actually hungry and not just looking for a place to hangout and chat?

What about when you are on a roadtrip with your starving family/children, still want the food to take a while coming out then?
