So I get that tattoos fade over time, turning from black eventually to blue. But mine seem to fade ridiculously fast. I had a new half sleeve done in black and shading 6 days ago, on the original photos it is clearly black, but now only 6 days later it is dark blue, why is this? Am I doing something wrong?

Is this your first tattoo? It’s not going to be healed in a week, it might look a big blue-er because there is skinflakes coming off. Its definitely not going to looke like it was when it was first done yet. Give it another week, keep it clean and use some restorative cream like Bepanthen a few times a day. It should go back darker again.
And you can always contact your artist with these questions as well, they should be able to help if anything is wrong.
Same artist for all? If so, then it might be a skill issue regarding the depth of the tattoo. However, they will always turn blue and will never ever look as good as they did on day one. You’re body’s defense system may also be hyperactive, which can lead to faster fading. That’s good for you, but bad for tattoos.
